    Howdy, all!

    This is a rare Wednesday night beer, but what a beer to have! It's Pirate Life Pale Ale, an American Pale Ale brewed over the border in South Australia. It has a big, resinous, dank, hoppy kick, smells a treat and delivers caramel-backed hoppy goodness to my pie hole with glorious abandon. All in all a great way to celebrate putting 60% of the work week behind me.

    Note the blurry special guest appearance by the Irish Setter in the background!

    Morning high speed train to Madrid, which takes less than 2hrs. Gotta love European trains. It's my fourth trip to the city (not counting layovers) and the first in over a decade.

    Good day BAs! Thanks @AzfromOz for starting us off today! And thanks go out to @The_Kriek_Freak for his excellent photos of Spain and beer!
    Looks like another crappy day here - again damp and cool. I'll be picking tomatoes after I post this - Mrs Lizard has a guilting coven later today so the canning probably won't take place until tomorrow.
    Today's "Old Breakfast Beer" is Doggie Claws 2009 from the recently defunct Hair of the Dog. This is a bottle-conditioned barleywine and is pretty decent. Check their website.

    Drinking Alfa another Greek “Macro” but at the end of the afternoon here it still taste pretty good, fresh and quaffable as can be. Actually neither Alfa, Mythos or Fix their main macros brews have disappointed me. At the source it’s still good.

    Few words about Crete and Greeks generally, good people with a laid back pleasant mentality.

    There are some tourist traps I steer clear of but the majority of people here, obvious tourists like me aside are good and relaxed.

    I just popped in to say that I will be having a fine local Kölsch later today and to say..yes!

    Wyoming is finally on the list for the Advent Calendar beers and I've pre-ordered for Christmas! Yay!

    Narwhal barrel aged. Still a couple of them left in the nearby supermarket.
    I guess I'll remember this summer as 'the summer of the barrel aged Narwhal'.

    Took a few days off from beer, but back on it again. This is the 25th anniversary beer of Nynäshamns Ångbryggeri, one of the pioneers of Swedish craft brewing. It’s a German style ale, and is called a Kölsch everywhere, but it isn’t lagered.

    Been checking out a lot of these kinds of clips today, drummers hearing a song without drums for the first time, then trying to play it. Crazy skills.
