Is Was / Keeping Together The Being For Whom Being Matters



Beer Temple Notes: $9 12 oz draft pour into a teku glass. 4.9% ABV. Saison brewed with Pu-Ehr Tea and Honey.

Appearance: Murky golden pour, bright white head leaves generous fine bubble lacing. 4.25

Aroma: Light funky lemon, honey behind the saison yeast. 3.5

Taste: Fuller than aroma, honey and lemon lead, nice pepper follows balancing the sweetness. Honey cones out as I near the quarter pole, slightly funky, nice bitterness holds this all together. 4.0

Mouthfeel: Bitterness wins out as I continue to the halfway mark, very dry. light and easy drinking, consistent with the abv, clean finish. 4.25

Overall: Nice blend and balance, harsher and less funky than a typical saison, chalking up the tea to a possible factor. Would buy a bottle or two if I find. 4.0

Hello good Advocates! Thanks @AzfromOz for tapping todays thread. Busy is good I guess cause that's ruling my world as of late. Drummin' & drivin'. Not today tho. Ha! Murphy's Stout. Hot & humid here, pepper dehydrating time. The ghost pepps are insanely hot this year...and as I type I've decided to pre-smoke 'em with oak & pecan wood. Quite a small batch but I'll toss a Swedish potato sausage on the grill as well. Great for low heat. Cheers! Beers!!

Busy and fun day here today - worked on a grape harvest at a local vineyard / restaurant venue at 7 am.....that was pretty cool....even got paid to pick grapes! Then a hike after and visit to a local orchard to get some fresh apples.....

So earlier I fed the ducks and squirrels in the yard, and I just went out and found a gift that definitely wasn't there earlier - a corroded muddy pencil! I think we've bonded!

 

Mountain Hops Brewhouse Stinger Kölsch. Earthy malt, some fruity esters, clean, crisp and delicious. Nice little hop kick.

Enjoying another stovepipe crowler from Liability Brewing in Greenville, SC. This is a nice light NEIPA, very refreshing!

Enjoyed your posts at the track and nearby bars at the Summer meet @tolar111 ! Saw the rainy pictures over the weekend, hard enough handicapping that track with a fast/firm track.

On to Revolution Brewery, going to have to head back to both Beer Temple and possibly Revolution for more to go beer later this week, because I can only lug so much walking or taking the bus.

Revolution Anthesis



Revolution Notes: Barrel Aged Sour with Brett. 7.1% ABV $10 9 oz snifter pour.

Appearance: Clear golden tan pour, bright white head, carbonation AWOL. 4.0

Aroma: Light sweet fruity aroma, grape backed by oak barrel. 3.5

Taste: Much stronger taste than the aroma, sweet lightly tart white grape, also jelly belly popcorn action. Oak emerges as this warms. 3.5

Mouthfeel: Light body, no carbonation, drinks easier than the listed ABV. Tartness emerges as this warms, from mild to interesting. 3.75

Overall: This sour has been aged for 3-4 years, thinking everything mellowed out here. OK offering, but not a repeat on my end. 3.75

May be a one and done, may pick up Bob-o-Rinos submarine sandwich (always Turkey and Ham), hands down the best in Chicago, on the way home.

Totally different music vibe, but it works.

Having this antique after work. Way past it's prime and just meh. Got the new reformulated Moderna Covid vaccine today at 11 am. No ill effects to report so far.

Nesher Malt Kvass paired with a nice Eastern European instant noodle from my local European specialty shop. The kvass is technically from Israel, but still feeling pretty authentic nonetheless.
