Good morning BAs! After walking/feeding the dogs, I did about an hour’s work weeding in the shaded parts of garden while the temp was 79°/feels like 86° due to 96% humidity…coffee time - finishing off last night’s 750ml bottle of Hunahpu’s Imperial Stout (2018):



Bottled 2/14/18. Poured at 54°. The cinnamon has backed off leaving hot spicy chilies front and center; faint cacao nibs/bittersweet dark chocolate with a little vanilla in the background. The chocolate notes are fading so I recommend you drink this year now. Cheers and have a marvelous Monday y’all!

 

On the back patio (briefly) enjoying a new NE DIPA from Anchorage Brewing, “Pray For Prey” DDH with Sabro and Motueka:





Hazy gold body with opaque clarity under two fingers of white foam; never ending cap retention; heavy ring and heavy lacing. Nose is grapefruit, tangerine, peaches and guava; some herbal notes as beer warms. Grapefruit, tangerine, lime, passion fruit and peaches; firm malt base; no bitterness. Soft rounded feel almost creamy; full minus body; moderate minus carbonation; no warmth from 8.4% abv; no astringency. Incredible look, nose, taste and mouthfeel; so easy drinking and simply delicious; another awesome DIPA from Anchorage!

Hello again Advocates! Thanks @Ozzylizard for todays thread. Looks like @DoctorZombies is having a great day with his highly rated ale. Nice! My day is going well so far. Yesterday was a wash for lawn choppin'. Mrs. Dewitt had other plans for me. So today is it! and I'll start with my last can of Murphy's Stout. One of my faves. >> I gotta share this...A couple yrs ago a good beer buddy passed away and left me a bunch of stuff. Old records, artwork and apparently a couple of little sealed boxes that I was unaware of until they were given to me this past Sat eve. A note read: Les' brew fund. Inside were scattered coins. Put them in order=exactly $100. How cool is that?! Beer $ from heaven. Even from beyond Tobin is buyin' me some sauce. Love you brother! I will use it wisely. He liked Bell's 2H but he always had German brews around. To the lawn! Cheers!

Congrats to that great beer! Thinking about how far we are into the year, the better. Also congrats to the background, some of us are waving goodbye to summer - for now...!

 

Break time. Front done. Hit the zerts 5x on the tractor blades. Time for something sporty & fast. Grain Belt Elite Soup'r Premium Light. A Morris Mini with one hop cone in the back drove past the brewery. That's what's goin' on with this brew. Tremendously light and crushable. Cheers!
