    Hello and happy Tuesday advocates.

Currently I am drinking Fix Dark, a Greek dark lager and pairing it with one of the many delicacy here: a Gyros, sort of a Greek kebab made of lamb, tomatoes, onions, sauce and fries as a side which never hurt.

    Cheers!

Nana Mouskouri, originally from Greece like Demis Roussos but eventually came over to France and had quite a popularity with her diaspora even out of Europe:

Good morning BAs! Thanks @Shanex for getting us going today. The dogs have been walked and fed this steamy am, kitchen cleaned…it’s coffee time - Revolution’s “Deth By Raspberries” BBA Imperial Stout:

Canned 9/28/21. Poured at 53°. Two fingers mousse-like foam with rocks; ok cap retention; solid ring with soapy lace; black with ruby see through with some clarity; medium minus legs on swirl. Strong raspberries jam nose. Taste is slightly tart raspberries; chocolate; no bourbon nor vanilla; a little oak as beer warms. Medium minus body; medium minus carbonation; no warmth from 11.8% abv; thin feel. Overall, a one trick pony - raspberries; very little base and virtually no barrel; very tasty if you like raspberries (I do) but if it weren’t for some chocolate notes,I could be drinking a fruited ale instead of a BBA impy stout…

    4.5 | 4.0 | 4.0 | 3.75 | 3.75
    Score: 3.96 rDev -5.5%

A rare miss, imo, from Revolution’s Deep Wood Series.

Cheers and have a terrific Tuesday y’all!

Gulden Draak Imperial Stout. A stout with a Gulden Draak taste or a Gulden Draak with stout taste. But definitely imperial with 12% alc by vol.
    Cheers

Which brings to mind the inimitable "Several Species of Small Furry Animals Gathered Together in a Cave and Groovin' With a Pict" from Ummagumma. Under certain conditions back in the day we would listen to the entire album. We always marveled at the audacity and strangeness of this tune. But I remember it still!

Three Magnets Brewing -- Dry Season
    Lightly smoked rustic saison

    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Light yellow body; dense, slow-rising carbonation; clear; thick, sticky, sudsy white head, rocky and sculpted plus long lasting with spidery fingers of foam clinging to the glass. Nice aroma combination of green apple and floral notes; cumin and coriander. Nice flavors following along the lines of the smell; more muted in character, earthy; spicy bitterness; mild phenol presence; minimal smokiness. Medium body; smooth yet somewhat sticky; some dryness from the alcohol presence.

A smoked saison is not something one expects to cross paths with. The smoke is more noticeable in the flavor near shortly after the pour then kind of fades away later then seems to creep back into the picture as the beer warms. Overall, though, this is a thoroughly enjoyable saison with a a nice fruity, fall-like character.

    Hey BA!

Drinking Stauder Pils. This brewery is ~10km from here so their beers are everywhere. Very good Pilsner and always cheap (10L/20x0.5L @ €15)

Looking forward to Bayern München vs FC Barcelona tonight

    Prost!

Day off, it’s 74° and breezy no humidity… I see no reason not to sit on the balcony have a few beers and listen to some music.

Your gyros (pronounced year-rohs) may have inspired a change in my lunch plans, either today or later this week. Opa!

Revolution is one of my favorite local breweries, but I get the same impression on at least of their fruit or other (vanilla, maple, others) adjunct varieties, even beyond stouts. This was the one apprehension I had about buying their “season ticket” of all releases (I ended up pulling the trigger, really enjoyed the first two of three, Lumberjack being the outlier).

If you stick with their core lineup, coffee or coconut adjuncts (these two may be a case of personal preference) and their “very special” releases, you’ll rarely find anything short of great.

Ok, time to leave the house so I can have a late lunch and pop open a beer after I return.

Good afternoon, all! Throwing back a mug of Clonefest, from Backpocket Brewing, Coralville, IA. Noble hops, German malts, and a thrift store O'fest mug from Sumner, IA. I thought the "Clone" in the name had something to do with the brewing process. Not so. According to the blurb on the can, this was brewed "...in honor of our fans, friends, and family in Clone country." For the uninitiated, that's Iowa State Cyclone country. I should have guessed that from the team colors of the can label. :flushed: Outstanding beer from an outstanding brewery. Prost!
