First round of golf in a week.
Played well for the most part, then an Oktoberfest from Santa Fe Brewing.

 

I've been goin' there for 9 yrs. Guy's a feckin' 2L

 

Day off. Last Blind Pig in the store. Went to the doctor with Mrs. Raul for a pregnancy check up this morning. Everything is good except that her thyroid is enlarged - so it will be monitored. The words, “Graves Disease” was brought up. But my wife said American doctors usually give worst case scenarios to basically cover their asses (if they actually occurred). She was also prescribed a small amount of aspirin, but I don’t like it because of all the shitty chemical/artificial color inactive ingredients in it. I brought it up with the doctor, but doctors here aren’t trained about nutrition and stuff like that, so they just kind of push it to the side. Anyway though…

I was antsy to pop 1 of these open. Probably the most impressive lager I have had lately. If someone told me this was from Europe I wouldn't be able to tell. It reminds me of a Czech style pils. I'm going to have to get more.

I just finished hydroseeding my lawn, again, as it all washed away two days after I finished last week. A well deserved great beer. VSOR

Well, to enhance this epic event even more, the puffed-up owner goes on & on, I look at the customer behind me and they're rolling their eyes...yer man finally stops and I say Can I Pay? as I hold my CC. Dude hadn't even rung up the beer. Just bled like a suicide mama all over me about banks, money and his miserable and immeasurably thick Phil Spector wall-of-shite life and then sez: "Oh. I guess it would help if I rung up the beers."
Seriously, the ocean has a hard time takin' that shit out again.

 

Lovely afternoon with fair temps and a decent breeze here and there. Having a Derecho “lager” again.


Any literally one of you (@vabeerguy?) might recall I mentioned last week this was called Derecho Common in the past. I actually contacted the brewery and they said that they still brew it to the “common / steam” standards even though they’ve tweaked it over the years. They were pretty open that the shift to calling it an American lager was pretty much marketing due to the public’s waning knowledge about the old “Cali” style.

Maybe next I should write them about quality control on their cans
