From the suggestions of @Snowcrash000 and @cavedave I'm going to start this thread. Hopefully it continues to grow and makes it through the year with some positive stories related to our hobby. I've had great trades with great people. I've had a very positive experience with this site. I'm going to throw out two interactions I've had recently that took me off guard. First one was a proxy gift from @Beer_Economicus Darwin and I have made several trades over the last few years and recently he asked if I could proxy a package for him. When I received his thank you box, I was elated. 13 various whiskey samples wax sealed and categorized by color, with a monogram wax seal. Even had the "tape" to make opening waxed bottles easier! I was stunned. Such an amazing personalized gift that I didn't expect. It made me smile. Another great experience was the generosity that @BlackToothGrin showed me. We had a nice trade a year or so ago involving some big whales. I reached out to him for a few top 250 FL brews I've been searching for since he was coming to STL. We discussed some bottles and after a couple days I followed up with him. He told me he shipped me the JW Tape Rock just because. I was again stunned by the random generosity. He wouldn't even let me buy him a couple beers at the brewery. The nerve! LOL Keep the trades going and you'll encounter wonderful people!
That’s an absolutely amazing thank you box. Great job @Beer_Economicus way to put a lot of effort into it!
I like this thread. Well done OP. I deal with enough BS and negativity in my work life, so this feels like a good time for this right now. Nice to see @Beer_Economicus first up for a mention. What the hell Darwin?! You never sent me personally wax sealed bottles I'm going to give a legit response here, but it's going to require me firing up a laptop to do it justice...
I nominate @Affinity Amazing extras, great communication, Ft Knox packaging. He even helped my out when my proxy backed out, included it on the same trade, AND sent more extras. Makes you want to find his ISOs just so you can trade with him more.
The best was when he would justify his mental gymnastics of offering relatively available beers $4$ for someone elses whales, then get mad when no one was interested.
My personal favorite was his no tipping position. Ever since he opened my eyes I just bus my table and crack a few jokes so I know my server is good
LOL. I always wondered if my man was British, or just had a preference for spelling that way. And while I'm at it, and since he's liking my posts, @colby600 is a world class trader. No fuss, no muss, some of the best pack jobs I've ever seen, geat communication, and generosity that goes beyond comprehension. Not to mention what I assume is one of the best DNT lists in the game.
I appreciate the kind words Kevin, you're a pleasure to deal with as well. Since we're reminiscing, I remember the time I made it onto his DNT list on his home page. @MattOC was also a member.
Wow, I forgot about his public shame list. One wonders if @MattOC's banana hammock was on that list too...
