Im here with an imperial stout to share that came courtesy of @FBarber Thank you!! this is Hop Butcher Fat Bear 10.5% imperial stout with peanut butter. Beer came as part of my English Premier League winnings.
I cant believe I am the first to review this beer on BA!!

Been sitting on this for a bit and glad to finally get a chance to open the can.

    onto my review:

Im sampling a cellar temp 16 oz can poured into my snifter. Date stamp says packaged 6/1/2022, so pretty fresh I think on this 9/17 cool evening.
The beer pours a pretty thick dark black color with no light passing through the glass. A dense creamy tan head of 1 cm foams up after the pour and fades to a thin edge layering and some scattered islands on the surface.
The aroma is very nice. I get rich deep chocolate notes and husky peanut butter and shell notes. Not sweet peanut butter cup notes, definitely more on the nutty side of things. No hop character shows through on the nose.
First sip reveals a thick yet very smooth textured beer and gentle spacious carbonation.
Flavor is some sweet chocolate and roasted malts, then some husky shell note and again peanut butter hits that linger long after each sip. The flavor is sort of like the nutter butter cookie/cracker items. no hop profile and the ABV is well hidden and not present. Sort of dangerous big beer.
If you like peanut flavors and not needing tons of sweetness, this is a very nice imperial stout for you. Very glad to have tried this one.
    4.35 in the BA DB

Looking for a Tosh.O "Web Redemption" after my disastrous foray the other day LOL...

Need to drink down my 2021 BCBS and variants inventory before the next Black Friday rolls around. Enjoying Fourteen which was the Chicago only release in 2014 with a few tweaks including rye to the malt bill. IMHO the best variant i had access too (also Classic Cola and Cherry Wood). Makes for a nice sipper with a touch of rye barrel heat still despite sitting in a cool closet since purchase along with some dessert beer adjuncts.
    Cheers!
    Tom

My first beer from Central Waters. I once had opportunity to try Black Gold, but sent it to another BA as part of a trade box. It ended up “lost in transit” before it left Detroit. I never quite got over that. @Resistance88 This is drinking well though. [IMG]

I’m not sure I can convey how much cinnamon is in this. Still tastes pretty good though

What year on that bottle? That beer was discontinued at least 5 years ago. I still have bottles that are holding up well.

It was a growler, but the bottle shop says 2016 and I have no reason to doubt them. It's not quite 10+ years, but it's 6-ish and still excellent.
