State line is a great shop. They have some deals each month too. First time I stopped was on the way home from a vacation and I was so overwhelmed I just walked out with nothing. This was over 12 years ago and the Belgian section put me over the edge.

    Enjoy

Because of Tavour, I have been able to get access to Bottle Logic’s barrel aged stouts. They’re all pretty much $28 a bottle, and while some of them may be overpriced (like this one), they’re still pretty damn good (like this one). If I have to pay a little more to get to have it, and I enjoy it, I guess I’ll take it.[IMG]

at 30% markup is a little steep but as long as you enjoy them that's all that matters

Behind the adjuncts, this beer is shockingly similar to BCBS. A little sweet with the coconut and cinnamon, but good. This is the second stout I’ve had from these guys (never heard of them before) and I’ve been impressed

Opened up a throwback tonight. 2014 Huna.

Good viscosity on the pour; gave it some time to warm in the glass. At pour temp I was getting dry chocolate, chili, and clear yet surprisingly mild notes of oxidation on the nose

Overall this has held up very well. Noticeable yet subtle notes of oxidation, more on the nose. Palate a little overly bitter, but softens with temp. Great flavors of dry baking chocolate, ancho, & a touch of earthy char. Cinnamon is subtle, and the vanilla has faded.

On the mission to finish the remaining four 2021 BCBS & variants before the next release Black Friday. Enjoying the original BCBS and happy to report still drinking fine. Barrel characteristics are still very prevalent as each sip was very warming and flavorful.
    Cheers!

Goose Island Bourbon County Brand Stout Classic Cola 2021 Imperial Stout, 14% ABV. Like a Beam and Coke. Can't say I love the cola variant, but it's 'interesting'.

Crushing Mass from Three Floyds. Coffee with stout added, that's what it tastes like anyway. Loving this!

Post work beers at Cinderlands. Not my favorite local but they keep it interesting.

Impy stouts from these guys are really hit or miss IMO.
After first sip I’m not impressed, but it’s growing on me as I’m working through the pour. All in all it’s solid but unremarkable. It’s definitely better than some of the imp stout offerings I’ve had from Cinderlands in the past, specifically can releases. Definitely worth a try but not worth seeking out.
