    Happy Thursday everyone!

    Today's beer was a light beer. Light in alcohol, that is, rather than light in calories. Before a mid-strength (3.5% ABV) beer became Australia's best-selling beer, the only options for beers that weren't full strength in any of the years from the 1970s through to the late 2000s were beers in the light beer category, which were traditionally about 1 - 2% ABV. It took a while for craft brewers to catch on, but when they did the beers were invariably better than the ones traditionally offered by the macro brewers.

    This one, Prickly Moses' Otway Light, is brewed about an hour up the road from me in the Otway Forest, a stretch of mountainous wet-climate forest that rims the coast and forms the backdrop to the stunning Great Ocean Road that winds along Victoria's southern coastline. It's a beautiful part of the world, and the beers brewed there aren't bad either.

    Good day BAs, and thanks @AzfromOz for getting us together this evening, afternoon and morning! Up with the sun, dogs walked/fed, kitchen cleaned, it’s coffee time - KBS Maple Mackinac Fudge (2022):

    Bottled 8/8/22. Poured at 54°. Fudgey chocolate, maple and a little bourbon. Some more maple as beer warms. My favorite KBS.

    Today we take the car to the mechanic, then I envision driving Mrs. Z around to the various stores to go thrifting. Hope to return this afternoon, keep my seat warm…Cheers and have a great day y’all!

    Probably my UA NA one and done for today; my heart readings were a little weird during my foggy-drizzly-cool run today on the 10 mile trail jog, so I think I need a day off from the sauce.

    Happy Thirstday Advocates! and thanks @AzfromOz for another kick off. Goal! I'm feeling the autumn vibe like overnight. Wow. What a difference a day makes. Conversing with this Surly Oktoberfest and It's a good chat. Tall, fruity hops in this one complete the journey with bewilderingly beautiful malting. Some folks may bitch about the brewery but they make really good beer. Cheers everyone!

    Poured into a mug I picked up a couple hours ago at a local "Buck & a Quarter Tree" Formerly known as Dollar Tree. Where nothing costs a dollar anymore. :slight_frown:

    Good Afternoon Advocates,

    Heavy rains here today on a rest day for me. Perfect weather for drinking some beer!

    Been seeing these TGs posted for many years, and we've eventually got distribution in NH. Unfortunately every time I see King, DDH King, or Pseudo they are wildly out of date. This one's canned 08/18 so I snapped it right up. Delicious as expected!

    Allgäuer Büble Bier Festbier, 5.5% - a light and delicious Festbier! Prost! :beers:

    -Look: Medium copper with a thick lively head, leaving heavy rings.
    -Smell: Light caramel malts and floral aromas, honey and brown sugar.
    -Taste: Toasted rye crackers and light caramel, sweet brown sugar*.
    -Feel: Thin and dry, loose and slippery, goes down fast.
    -Overall: A very good Festbier that I'd have again!

    *This lightly sweet brown sugar flavor is delightful, and I bet that's why it has a following!

    This the Kirmes Festival in Weiterode, Germany, held around the same time as Oktoberfest. I attended this one but in a different year. An entire day's activities in 4 minutes! Prost! :beer:
