Back from another hike. It rained the entire day untill now. Bought 2 bottles of local beer. Luckely one was cooled. Cheers

Good morning BAs! Usual chores done…this morning’s coffee I brought back from London last month - Siren Craft Brew’s “Broken Dream” a “Twisted Breakfast Stout”…how could I pass this beer by?:



Canned 5/27/22. Poured at 56°. Brewed with cacao and hazelnut. Roasty malt taste with bittersweet dark chocolate and a bit of hazelnut. No warmth from 5.8%. Very tasty!

Mrs. Z went to a 50’s theme b-day party last night for a girlfriend turning 75…I picked Mrs. Z up at 10pm, and she was too wound up to retire thereafter…I suspect wifey will be in bed all morning. Oh well, I have plenty to do to get ready for our upcoming trip. Cheers y’all and have a great day!

I put the RV into “storage” yesterday (I built a driveway beside my house that is partially enclosed) and I’m still moving stuff from the garage into the camper (I call the RV my mobile storage unit) to make room in the garage for stuff Mrs. Z has in the house…I’m never ending moving (her) stuff from point A to B to C…

Thank goodness there’s beer…Cheers gang!

I would have posted this in NBW, but I had one of these last night while cooking dinner. Quite delicious.

Doki Doki Coffee - Lupulin Brewing - 4.5% ABV.

look: 3.75 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.5 | overall: 4
Fairly clear straw colored pour, though a bit more murky than the base beer. The head was thick 3 finger, and white, but the retention is poor. There's a decent amount of carbonation rising in the glass.
The nose is malty - rice, some biscuit. I also get a faint hint of the coffee in the aroma.
Up front it is just like the base beer - malty, biscuit, slightly sweet, slight honey and a hint of lemon. The back is where the coffee kicks in. It isn't a strong flavor, but it's there and adds to the flavor of the base.
Light body, crisp feeling.
Quite delicious, and adds a flavor that works well with this beer.


Time to pop in the American version of Doki Doki panic into my NES to pop off a quick game before I go to work in a couple of hours.

Was surprised by an unexpected upset by the Marzen, though I am enjoying both, with a full blow by blow in the Oktoberfest thread. Will next put in my Marzen notes in the New Beer Weekend thread.
