Leaking Waxed Bottle Help

    Haven’t tried that. I’m just going to assume the bottle is full with beer, as the percentages of it being completely empty are pretty much 0. I’ll report back when we open it up, but like I said above, after having doing this a long time and drinking countless beers, I’ve never seen anything like this before.

    A completely full bottle is an invitation to disaster. Any brewer that lets one out of the bottling facility is irresponsible. If it is completely full, and there is any increase in temperature, the beer will expand and any carbon dioxide pressure would also be increased. That suggests that the bottle would explode if the closure is intact. Otherwise a small liquid leak would make sense.

    Yeah if there was a “weak point” in the cap/wax and the bottle was completely full, that could explain the small amount of liquid the OP observed. Rather than exploding, the expanded liquid could have just leaked out enough to relieve the pressure. Guess we will just have to wait to find out.

    I’ll dive deeper into this tomorrow but I’m posting this while taking a dump at my friend’s house. I opened the bottle and it made a sound like you were opening a pop bottle up. Bubbles fizzed out and this is what it looked like. It must have been absolutely filled to the brim because this pic is after the fizz settles.
