Good morning all from this chilly yet sunny part of France. Sunday Morning coming down again. Opening Chimay Blue. It’s a great, great beer. Let it warm a bit as you slowly sip on it and you’ll enjoy it even more.

Aside from beer. The past week was good, coming home from Crete didn’t even feel bad. I love to travel but as they say “There’s no place like home”. It was also my first abroad trip since Portugal well before the pandemic which screwed up a few travel plans too.

Anyway, have a great day and a cold or three beers in your glass!

A few days ago, Netflix released a series on infamous Jeffrey Dhamer. One episode in, grim as expected but too early for a review.

In the meantime, “murder metal” band Macabre from Chi-town did this one about him:

    Howdy @Shanex!

Sunday evening here and the first nice, sunny and warm day of Spring has just paid us a visit.

The beer I drank on my Old Man's deck sounds like it comes from Italy, being called Amalfi and all, but it's actually a Portuguese beer, and quite an ordinary one at that. Cloyingly sweet is an apt descriptor, and one I'll no doubt use when I get around to reviewing it on this site...

    Cheers!

Have a good Sunday. Still up after watching at least 4 MST3K episodes with Julia. She went to sleep before the end of Santa Claus. Which is a dubbed Mexican film about Santa vs a demon lol, it's terrible. Life is truly the best of all time. 2 years next weekend.

More pantry goodies. 2/20/2019 can of Espresso Totalitarian. This might be even better than fresh when I reviewed it. The molasses is a lot more pronounced but the coffee and hop/char bitterness is still quite aggressive. This is aging just as well as the original imperial Russian stout for sure. Complexity is massive.

Still a bit head-achy, but less than yesterday's 60lb head syndrome. Best I can do is this N/A.
And a little chill interlude, seasonal, from Pharoah. Cheers all....

Yeah, been delaying getting that shingles shot - we'll see, but I've heard similar stories from my fellow 50+ friends and colleagues about those side-effets. Eeek.

My wife didn't suffer like I did. Her fx were mild. Can't explain why. Maybe they won't be so severe for you either...hopefully.

Good morning BAs! Just finished my review over on the NBW thread of this morning’s coffee - Barrel Aged DORIS, by Hoppin’ Frog:

BBAging adds layers of flavor, but…
Check out the NBW thread for the skinny!

Watching the possible hurricane as it heads this way…looks like we will be in Paris long before it lands in the panhandle, still…

Cheers and have a super Sunday y’all!

I've got my Zwanze day beers lined up & ready to go for after breakfast.
First up is Lindeman's Gueze, followed up by one from The Referend Blendery. Can't wait for that one!

Good day BAs! Thanks @Shanex for starting today's thread. Mrs. Lizard returns from Quilting Coven Camp today - no doubt during Noir Alley so I'll have to spend 45 minutes emptying her car. While she was gone I got some stuff shifted in the garage, got cabinets mounted in my shed, washed the carpets in the living room, hallway, and bathroom, and spent quality time with the turtles and the groundhog.

Decent but nothing spectacular - anybody know if the date on the can bottom is canned date, BB date, or just some random calendar day?

By the looks of their website it would be a pkg date. Not sure. Perhaps ask someone from this link?

I got the shingles shots…I’m 60+…arm was sore for a day…when I was a mere lad, I worked in a hospital as an orderly for 5 years before going to college - you don’t want Shingles! Cheers!

You're better off getting the shingles shot than getting shingles. I got the shots and the only real side effect I experienced was a very sore arm. The pharmacist warned me it would be sore the next day so I expected it. Second shot I had no discomfort of significance even though I expected the worst.

I know some people who have had shingles and the effects can be permanent and debilitating, you don't want to get it. When one of my co-workers told me what his wife was dealing with, I got my shot the following weekend. She got shingles in the ear and has chronic pain in her ear ever since and there's nothing they can do about it.

Same here…pharmacist warned me arm would be sore (it was); second shot was a nothing…bottom line, Shingles is for many people really painful and awful - I’ve seen it first hand - you don’t want Shingles. PSA over - Cheers!
