Got to just be your expectations, I guess. Being an Oktoberfest purist, I don't like some of the Americanization that goes on with so many.

Apparently, from the buddy and the hive, P3 BA Okto is worthy of getting if you're a Barleywine fan. Going to try to get up there but no guarantees. Not overly concerned either way, but worth grabbing if you're nearby according to early reviews.

That is the only smoked beer my wife has ever liked, and she has proclaimed this to me every time she's had a can of it. Really excellent stuff.

I thought if anyone on this forum wouldn't need a reminder it would be @steveh but even he isn't perfect...this is a minimal review, but for crying out loud, I reached out!

    Wait, what?
Well that was back in July, right? I was at RT in August and there was no Rauch -- therein lies my incredulous post -- it's back? Now? My timing gets worse as I get older.

    Does anyone remember Monk's Fest?
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/6063/45519/

I think it was only imported to the U.S. for a couple years.

If you do, this is what RT's Märzen is remaining me of. Today's can is a little less chilled and is giving off some crackery notes along with a touch of bready melanoidin. But it's still somewhat nutty -- a character I don't taste in many German Märzens -- though the Monk's Fest had it.

Bottom line, I think it's growing on me.

They have a slow pour faucet, but, yes, it is not the Lukr side pour. It looks like the traditional pull but has an additional gear and mesh to draw out CO2 like Lukr. I didn't ask why they changed, but have heard anecdotes from area brewers that the Like is 'touchy'. I have no idea.

Yeah, got that info from Tim, the Wednesday bar tender, and he also told me it was easier to use and yielded the same results.

That said, I didn't get a beer off of it that night, so I can't report on a comparison. And I wonder if you can get the same 3 types of pours from it?

Even more so, I'll add. I poured my last can, lightly chilled, into a half-liter Maß this afternoon and sort of wish I had another can.

It's really much better than some of the other Ami Märzens I've been trying that I think I need to focus on it a little closer.

I still have one more to try, been too busy drinking through all the RT Festbier I got

I also had a chance to try the Green Kite and it was fantastic. These guys really nail the modern WC IPA's, I highly recommend trying this one and American Burger if you're a fan of the style. Bummed I only got one can of the Kite.

5th Anniversary party this Saturday 10/1 -- should be a great time (as it always is ). I believe there will be 12(?) total new offerings; details coming on those this week.
