I got to try Dark Mode for the first time today. I stopped by a local shop, and they happened to have it on tap. I admit that I only had a 2ish ounce taster, but I thought it was a good intro.

I thought it had a surprisingly large amount of barrel character and good body, considering it's a milk stout (which I tend to find are normally weak in both categories). What struck me, though, was actually the...Hmmm, I'm not sure what to call it. It isn't really mouthfeel, but it's close. It felt flat. Almost like it was undercarbed, but clearly not oxidized, and it didn't really seem undercarbed. Just like of lacked that pazazz.

I was quite impressed with the flavors that were present. I only wish that one fault (as I view it) could be fixed. If memory serves, a few other people noted a similar thought.

Eh, this tastes like a slightly flat, very bitter cherry cola. Incredibly, the bitterness of this beer is somehow higher than the bitterness I’m currently feeling. I’m not getting any sweetness, and the only thing that’s salty is me for getting suckered into buying this, considering I don’t even care for Garrett’s popcorn.

I'd love to see more local BA offerings on Nitro. Anytime Half Acre do a nitro Benthic at FOBAB, people lose their minds (including me :grinning: ).

Is currants going to be seeing distro at all, does anyone know? I'm going to be out of town all weekend the 14th - 16th so was just curious if I can just look for it out in the world or if I need to talk to Rev about possibly picking up at a later date.

Deth by Current strikes me as one that would be mass produced and distro’d based on previous Deth’s.

and one that would sit at the taproom to go options for a long time

I thought you had 2 weeks to pick up your order, but obviously doubt check that.
Yea, I wouldn't be shocked if it sold out immediately, but on the other hand, Rev's barrel aged stuff is getting more and more popular, so who knows.

I believe they did a one month pickup window for the last release and it applied to all orders, not just the season tickets.

For whatever reason I thought I read that all pickups had to be made the 14th-16th. I may have just read something too fast, though.

    Edit: Nope, I'm not mistaken.

"Pickups will begin Friday at 2pm*, where the Taproom will be pouring the featured beers and draft variants. The Revolution Brewpub will also be pouring all three release beers when it opens at noon on Friday, October 14th. Season Ticket holders can begin to pickup starting Thursday, October 13th at 2pm. *All pick ups must be completed during Taproom hours from Friday, October 14th to Sunday, October 16th.

Our friends from Dark Matter will be onsite with some fun surprises and tasty brews."

Their event listing for this release on their site.

I don't think it's a big deal. I know in the past if I couldn't make a release pickup I could call them and ask them if they can hold it for another week or whatever and they've always been super accommodating.

I'm willing to bet once Rev has updated the details on the release, the pickup date range will change to something more like the July release. It's possible that was a placeholder date range at the time they created the event on their site. They'll likely post updated release details next week so I would just keep an eye out for that.

Hey all - Wanted to get out in front of something and give you a heads up. We heard a lot of great feedback on the new artwork and the desire to get prints made. We wanted to make that happen and make them look awesome so we took the risk to have them done with layers including metallic stock to really make them pop like the cans. This took a lot of additional work from our artist and designer, then the prints were really expensive to have made. We're doing 100 of each beer starting back with the July releases and they're each numbered /100, then we won't be reprinting these after that. They'll cost $40 each and are 12" x 18". I believe the first couple will begin going on sale next week with the Deth beers, then the rest will follow throughout the Fall. More to come once they arrive.
