I'd be really curious to see what their economic impact is on the town. Decent tax money for sure, and perhaps some more off-season traffic than usual, but during the summer, Sandwich has no shortage of people spending money.

Tell that to the polar ice caps

Sure they have no shortage of people during the summer but even during those months TH customers are spending money elsewhere. I picked up lunch at some local place in Sandwich on a beer run from Falmouth last summer and also had dinner at Fisherman's View this summer after a late pickup at TH, 2 places I personally would not have gone to if I was not there to pick up beer. And having the TH traffic during the offseason (8-9 months of the year) has to help local business although it's probably not helping as much as it could because of the restrictions on the traffic the town and TH is allowing.

Personally, I love Sandwich because I’m typically just going for a pickup and it’s far easier than Charlton. They do a great job, and the website is pretty clear regarding procedures. It is fantastic between October and May. The staff is friendly and clearly indicate where to park/what to do. They do a fantastic job.

I don’t love the pour system so I don’t get pours, but it’s only a 1 hour drive for me. I have yet to have a pour there, so my experiences may be irrelevant.

I have also found Tree House Sandwich to be wildly inconsistent. Hell, the time I brought up in here that they got one of my orders wrong, I got ripped to shreds. But there’s also been great times there and it’s a convenient location. I heard that (maybe just for the summer?) they were starting to charge for parking which is a bummer but just a limitation of the space. I didn’t see this when I picked up on Monday but even still. All things aside, they could’ve dealt with Matt’s situation better, and hopefully they can improve going forward

if there's a town owned lot, the Cape famously charges wild parking fees for their small town-owned lots for non-residents. Their excuse is so it discourages tourist parking, so residents can enjoy their parks/beaches. but its just Memorial - Labor.

I had the Cascade IPA last year and was all excited for it, but it wasn't that great. I'd put it below SNPA.

Doesn’t Nate own a house right next to the Sandwich location? Spend time there and just put in an offer…

I’m planning a treehouse visit in November to Deerfield. Went in September and drank through my case way too fast. Was very impressed with the Julius and green. For the price those are just ridiculously good beers. I’m not a DIPA guy necessarily, but this go-around I’ll definitely revisit haze and very green.

Anyways I’m dragging along my buddy and his wife and two kids along with my wife and 2 kids. We’re getting an AirBNB for the night (Saturday). I plan on getting in Saturday at open to hopefully beat a crowd - get some pizza for lunch, and be out to check in the airBNB by 3.

We will be driving in from NYC Saturday AM. I’m trying to plan a stop on the way back. Thinking either 12 percent in new haven or new park brewing. Is new park worth a visit for a pour and a few cans? Or better off just allocating that budget towards treehouse?

I plan on bringing home 2 to 3 cases. One split with julius and green because I can’t get enough of those. A second with a mix haze and whatever other DIPAs, IPAs, and pale ales peak my interest. a third with a mix of stouts and lagers. I’d like to think that would get me thru the winter but I’d be lucky if it lasts me 8 weeks at my going rate.

Also any recommendations for kids around Deerfield/Springfield. I was thinking about the Dr. Seuss museum since the weather might be too cold for outdoor stuff.

I mean, they're distributed in NY but the Marlowe out of 12 percent is great, especially the eager to share pale ale. I'm less impressed with the other stuff out of there (not that it's bad, just standard stuff).

There's a butterfly sanctuary about five minutes up Route 5 from Tree House. I took my kids there when they were little and they still talk about it (10? 15? years later). I know it's still there because I drove past it last week. Richardson's Candy Kitchen (and ice cream) is across the street and up the road right in that general area, too.

New Park is pretty good but nothing on Tree House - unless you're into the sour stuff. New Park makes some mean sours. I haven't been for a couple of years because I find (found) the taproom to be unbearably crowded and the staff to be insufferably douchey.

A detour to Fox Farm would probably add an hour to your trip. But what a fine hour it would be!

    Counterweight and NEBCo?

Y'all Boquette is fucking awesome. Totally different for them being a dark Saison with coffee but I really enjoyed it. And don't even get me started on Impermanence which I had for the first time last night. Very similar to Moment Of Clarity, but better IMO

Definitely hit up Brick and Feather-10 minutes from TH-Deerfield. Beautiful IPAs and Lagers. Don’t know the age of your kids but the Holyoke Children’s museum is a fun trip.

At Tree House in Charlton right now. What a place! I’ve only been to the one in Sandwich so far and just to pick up cans. This place is enormous and beautiful. The tap list is crazy.
