Good morning BAs! Thanks @ChicagoJ for getting us going today. Watching the news and drinking a Strawberry Rhubarb Pie Gose by Westbrook:



We lost power last evening and fortunately it came back on at 3 am. Gusty now with scattered showers…this part of the state was hardly touched by the hurricane. Looks like today will be very wet up through Jacksonville as the storm passes out into the Atlantic. Hope everyone stays safe today. Cheers!

 

Goooood morning BA's! Well no damage overnight but did lose power around 0230. The neighbors across the street have it on from a different feed so at least it's isolated. Best news is it's 63 degrees so I'm sitting out back with a Black Butte!

Sweetwater IPA as we prep to reheat some pizza on the grill. The power is still out but crews are in the neighborhood.

 

Hey BA's - happy Thursday

Today is "new roof day" for the old Beer and Boathaus....Amish crew was here before sunrise at 7 am to get started - great crew of young guys, they had the roof stripped of the old shingles in about 2-1/2 hours....they are now putting down the new GAF dimensional shingles!

with new basement glass block windows, new exterior paint, and now a new roof, I feel like I have accomplished a lot my first year of retirement! (besides all the boat work etc!)

 

The roofer staring at you is cracking me up!

 

My back is fuckin sore today. I need some good ole fashioned pain killer. I'm enjoying this 1 more than I thought I would.

Saxy Machismo, a bourbon barrel aged Quadrupel with smoked malt, guajillo and habanero peppers, from Haw River Ales. Good enough to hold its own against the Belgian mainstays.

 

Here's to some 14 day old King Sue. Freshest iv had it. Scored a pack last night.

My new roof is almost complete.....wowza, these guys work fast! This old geezer would have taken all week to do what they did in half a day!

 

Finishing up my growler of MO. It didn't last long at all. I could knock back plenty of this stuff. Light but very refreshing, balanced and enjoyable. A true pale ale imo.

Happy Thursday all! I usually tend to neglect Oktoberfest beers this time of year because their release unfortunately coincides with fresh hop season here in the Northwest—and those beers absolutely demand to be consumed as soon after packaging as possible. But I picked up a four-pack of this beer yesterday, realizing it’s been years since I’ve had it (my go-to is Ayinger, but that’s a Märzen, and I actually don’t remember the last time I enjoyed a proper festbier). This is better than I remembered, and perfect for these cooler days. I’d rather be enjoying this at a big wooden table in a Munich bierhalle, but my patio in the slanting fall light here in Seattle will have to do. Cheers!

 

Come on pm BA's I'm starting to look bad here. I'm jk idgaf about looking bad for drinking beer.
