NG just posted that they are out of Champe Rose and running low on Fruit Melange. Since no mention, I would assume that means the stock of Vintage 21 must still be healthy.

This makes me wonder how much Champ Rose was made. Couldn't have been that much given how much other R&D's have lasted pre-pandemic.

For example, I was at the brewery in early June and didn't think that there was that much Melange left then. I thought for sure it would be gone by now.

They replenish whats on the floor from time to time if they have more. I visited yesterday and was told there was only 2 skid of Champ Rose total. I dont know how many bottles that actually is or how that compares to how much Vintage they bottled but there was roughly 1/4 to 1/3 skid of that and Melange available(based on how high I think they can be safely stacked).

Im not sure how I feel about Black Currant. It's less sweet than most of the fruits and quite tart. It left my mouth very dry like I ate a handful of random berries on a bush I came across as a kid that I probably shouldn't have eaten...
Now that i think of it, this random memory explains so much about me. Kinda like the time I found a jar of this liquid metal like substance in a friend's basement that was soo cool I just had to open it and pour it into my bare hands.

Just consider Woodman's card policy as Wisconsin's version of a toll booth.

Woodman's takes cash, debit cards, checks (including out of state), and the previously maligned Discover.

Was planning to swing through New Glarus the Friday before Labor Day to grab the R&Ds. Surprised they sold through the Champ Rose so quickly. Might be the first R&D I miss.

Any thoughts on Champ Rose yet? I only grabbed one bottle (along with some black currant and fruit melange) and I think so far BC has been the winner; fruit melange has a lot of nice peach on the nose, but it feels like the brown base kinda mutes the flavors. BC on the other hand, has a ton of currant and a dark purple that satisfies the stupid "ooh pretty colors!" part of my beer brain.

They are brewing a strong dunkleweizen this week for an upcoming thumbprint release. Wheat isn't my thing but thought others might be interested.

WTF am I doing wrong that the NG release schedule on their site only shows January- September? I know all the packaged goods in the grocery store have had their contents reduced due to inflation, but did we knock 3 months off the calendar?

Please tell me this Dunkel will be available in Nov. so I can have my WI contingent mule some down for Thanksgiving?

Their release calendar only shows what has already been released this year, not what is coming up. It's more like a release history.

They usually announce/update the calendar at the beginning of each quarter--or sometimes a week or two into the quarter. It wouldn't surprise me if we see what the beers will be for Thumbprint/seasonal releases soon.

Looking forward to tis weizen dopplebock. I thought they had done one before but I must have been thinking of Imperial Weizen, which I really liked. That was categorized as a weizenbock on this site, now that I look it up.

I liked Black Currant more than I thought I would. If you are hoping or a Cantillon style lambic you will be disappointed. It's fairly sweet, like the raspberry tart etc. However it is more tart than those. Think tart cherry juice. Love the purple head
