Thanks for your concern LOL! Weathered them pretty well for a few hours but being the old man fell asleep watching some tube a couple hours later.
Yes, retirement is nice and aside from the Head Chef, Chief Bottle Washer, Head Groundskeeper, and Chief Housekeeper duties (since Da Boss still works) i am pretty unencumbered for parts of afternoons and evenings. It has been a blast participating in threads. My old life i was working 50-60 hours a week so was lucky to do two beer reviews in a week and maybe look at the Beer News and Release and my Regional forum once a week. Still have not channeled my inner Jim Morrison and crack a beer when i wake up and start the WBAYDN forum!
    Cheers!

Enjoying a dessert stout from Heist who IMHO is right up there with Burial, if not better, as the best IPA brewer in NC that i have experienced. This stout, which weighs in at 9.2% abv, makes for a nice dessert brew as the blending of coffee, vanilla, and maple syrup adjuncts is nicely done. Very tasty and easy drinking, wish i had bought a four pack.
    Cheers!

The only time I beat the dudes in a different time zone was when we lost power and it hadn't been back on around 3am. Dead of summer and couldnt sleep so figured I would have a beer.

Went on BA cuz wasnt shit else to do and jumped on the opportunity when i saw WBAYDN hadn't been started by The French ,Floridian or Australian. Got me wondering how many people in the Pacific Time Zone have started the thread cuz it doesn't seem easy.

Breaking in my new BA teku with a stout. Yeah I'm surprised too. Tree House Quadruple Shot Mocha Cold Brew.

Pretty dang decadent, just what I'm in the mood for tonight. The thick, creamy body just oozes luscious chocolate and smoothe coffee.

thank you to @micada for this one. I forgot I had this, IDK when he sent this ,but glad i found it.
This is an all around Great BBA Coffee Impy Oatmeal Stout. Everything I expect and it exceeds. Most BBA and Non BBA Coffee tend to be too sweet and lack balance but not this guy.
Poured very thick and settles pitch black which makes me anticipate a treat.
Nose is Heavily roasted and barrel char .
The flavor is straight to the point. No fuckin around here . It's big malt, some dark fruit and bitter chocolate with a prominent barrel ( vanilla and alla that)presence that completes it . Just straight up fuckin good.
Mouthfeel is perfect, exactly what i want from an Imperial Oatmeal Stout...thick and chewy.
This is great. A real winner. Up there with Cafe Deth and the rest of the Top Tier BBA Imperial Oatmeal Coffee Stouts

That's a shame; I was not aware that Bell's distro of it changed. I'm in the middle of Iowa, and still yearly see it consistent on shelves from October through Christmas

Im back with another Imperial Stout. Barreled Souls Coffee Monster (tandem Coffee variant) with vanilla added. This is one of a 3 bottle series where the coffee was changed in each bottle, otherwise was the same beer. Ive liked every one of em. This is 12.4% ABV brew and I really like it....this NFL game is terrible, and Im not even sure I want to watch OT! but at least I have a tasty beer!

    onto my review:
Sampling a cellar temp 500 ml bottle poured into a snifter. Beer was picked up at the brewery October 2021 and has been cellared since. Was bottled 8/31/2021.
the beer unsurprisingly pours a jet black coffee color with a creamy tan head of .5 cm. This foam fades slowly down the glass but remains as a sturdy surface covering throughout the sampling. Nice dense lattice when I take a sip or swirl the glass.
Aroma is some roasted malts, sweet chocolate and a bit of sweetened coffee. I also get a little vanilla, but no ABV hints and hops are absent.
First sip reveals a medium body with gentle carbonation and a silky smooth texture. Feels like a nice Imp Stout, not too thick and very drinkable for the ABV.
Flavor is rich and malty with roasted notes and dark and sweet chocolate. Hints of sweetened coffee come through and then vanilla lingers a bit on the finish with some coffee grounds too. Never any hops. And booze is absent, makes this very drinkable for a bigger imp stout.
This is a tasty imperial stout, Ive enjoyed all three of the coffee monster variants. Nice series of nice beers.
    4.29 in the BA DB

Tree House Impermanence, labled as an Imperial Milk Stout, 9.2% abv. I am camping and this is a good campfire beer.

The coffee and dark chocolate balances the maple and lactose a bit, but still on the sweeter side. Full bodied, thick and smooth feel.

[IMG] On my second four pack of this. I’m still confident this years is 100% better than last. At least to my tastes. Really wish I had a bottle to compare. Not that it would be an honest comparison anyways as some of the flavors have undoubtedly fallen off since last year. Overall this is a fudgy, milk chocolate, roasted malt, espresso bomb. Very happy with it at 23.00 per four pack. I’m doubtful I could get anything comparable for the same price or less. Cheers all.
