    I have a good friend from then Rhodesia now called Zimbabwe. He grew up in a tobacco farming family (huge farm). He moved to the USA in the 70s and was a tobacco broker and trader. He also was an inventor and developed some very successful wine tools and then created a wine accessory company. He has done very well. Years ago he told me that Namibia was one of the coolest places that he knew of in Africa. He mentioned those dunes and said they were remarkable. Have a nice journey and take tons of picture!

    Is an artist ever happy?? Whenever I do anything remotely creative I have to suffer the agony of what I make never looking like what I saw in my mind.
    I can recognize how hard it is to do a sketch like that,very well done

    That’s awesome! I haven’t been to many places in Africa - only South Africa and Namibia. Of those, Namibia is definitely the coolest. Although, I did get South African tick bite fever on a trip to the eastern Cape, so my view might be a bit obscured!

    There is some cool architecture here in Swakopmund. Here is one of my favorites. Haus Hohenzollern was built as a hotel for Hermann Dietz in around 1906. It was apparently used as a brothel and a gambling house in it's history.

    Happy Columbus Day/Indigenous Peoples Day (whatever your preference). 2022 batch Litherman's Limited Big Truck American Barleywine from New Hampshire. 8.5% ABV. They are aging some of this in barrels to be released in December. This is the unaged version.

    The Wright Brothers could have extended that first flight a bit further from atop one of those monsters. They make Jockey's Ridge look small.....
