    I finally found a Great Lakes Blackout Stout in a store. For a shelfie it has eluded me for over a decade. Was a very solid beer. Very balanced, not quite and roasty and hoppy as say Old Raspy or Storm King for classic shelfies. With that said it drinks easy and isn’t a pastry dessert supper either. Did not disappoint.

    If this Years BA Speedway weren't so disappointing I'd be all over that shit

    So what it sounds like is they should have spent as much time on the contents as they did on the bottle art. And yeah, that's a horrible flavor profile. Would stink to have to stand behind that rather than own up to a swing and a miss.

    Either you get great deals out there or I’m getting screwed. I stopped by today to grab a few bottles of Uncle Jacob (12oz) and they rung at $14 each, these were 2018 bottles. I put them back. Not seen them any other spot. Now I’m curious.

    Uncle Jacob's, Tweek and the rest go for 12 bucks out here. Those are all aged a year or so .
    Imperialis is the only 4 pack format I have seen from Avery and from the Info on the Bottles only 76 Bourbon Barrels of it were produced. The msrp was 20 bucks on it . One store here pieces out all their 4 packs into singles and put them up for sale for 10 dollars each, Those pieces of shit. I called them out on it and they still sit there along with all the other Avery shelf turds.

    Avery is good, but not worth what they sell for.

    Left Hand Wake Up Dead imperial stout. Wow. Dare I say very similar to SN Narwhal? Very roast heavy with a deep dark malt base. LH has been nailing their darks lately. Even better, I think the name is a nod to Anthrax’s Efilnikcufecin.

    Oh, I think I had it wrong. Firestone Walker ships to PA, and I found a store on the far side of PA that has Speedway regularly. Then I could have the East PA store ship to West PA. The things I’ll do for stouts and barleywines.

    Drank a couple snifters of big barrel aged stouts at Free Will Brewing tonight.

    Barrel Aged Sharing Size (Bourbon Barrel Aged Imperial Milk Stout with peanuts, cacao nibs, vanilla beans, and sea salt), and Persistence of Gravity (Blended Imperial Stout aged in a Canadian whisky barrel, apple brandy, Basil Hayden bourbon barrel, and Templeton Rye whiskey barrel).
