Greetings from the land of strikes, cheese and baguettes!

Yes, there’s currently a strike on oil refineries affecting pretty much all of France and the key point is… salaries. Talks are being held every day with French giant Total but it’s a dead end for now. I managed to refuel yesterday evening though.

    Drinking La Chouffe…

    Santé!

This movie is a rewatch for us every other year. Love it…

[IMG] We are heading to Salem Mass for the day. Figured I could have one quick juice before we go. This is a nice NETIPA with massive flavor, but easy going down. Cheers all

Greetings to two of my favorite early morning virtual bar brethren. Have fun on your day trip, @SawDog505. @Shanex, how did you know Clockwork Orange was one of my three favorite movies of all time, with Boogie Nights and Citizen Kane? Does this say something about me?

We’re going to the Immersive King Tut exhibit today, and I’ll definitely share some pics later. For now, I’m drinking an early morning stout and enjoying a live performance of what may be my favorite song of 2022.

This may the only band in the world (other than Phish) who says “here’s the first single from our new album” and releases a 19 minute jam. If not, I’m pretty sure they’re the only band that planned on releasing three albums this month. Other than finally listening to the full album and the live version of Manchester Orchestra’s “Black Mile to the Surface”, discovering these guys is my musical highlight of the year.

Thanks firstly for this compliment! Clockwork Orange, and to a lesser extent Full Metal Jacket and Shining (both excellent too), are other of Kubrick I enjoyed immensely.

I think I just shouldn’t get started about movies and cinema because we’d spend all day talking and I’d just end up boring the hell out of the whole VB.

What does it say about you? You have great taste in movies, probably also beers. Sadly I can’t find many very worthy Stouts here. A Chimay is still a nice beer and a fine replacement so to speak when the classic ones from Bells or Founders cannot be found.

Don’t get me started on Kubrick. If you ever want to learn about him, Michael Herr’s biography is the way to go. Like you said, we could be here all day talking his movies. One more for the morning for me, and then I’m off.

    'Evening all!

They're from just up the road from me!

Today's beer was a sediment-filled meal of a beer. I realised halfway through the pour that I was already getting sediment, so rather than have half a beer I threw caution to the wind, poured what seemed like half a litre of trub into my glass and had dinner in a glass. I present for your visual delight, Atrium Verno 20. That said, this photo is before I poured the rest of the bottle in...

    Cheers!

Good afternoon, and thanks to @Shanex for launching us into the weekend. I'm back on the coast, and stopped by the Namib Dunes Brewery in Swakopmund. First brewery I have visited in Namibia. Grabbed a selection of beers after a nice chat with the brewer. They are brewing Belgian, German, and American styles. Kicking off with the Swakop Lager, an easy drinking beer coming in at only 2.5% ABV. Very refreshing. Cheers all.

Morning, BAs! Busy thread already. I've got a busy day planned, myself. But first, I'm going to partake in my favorite natural muscle relaxant: beer.

    Mornin' to ya.
Best I can do, still waking up, getting some light work done before daylight, and before a run.
    Cheers!

We actually had a bit of a thunderstorm in the desert last night. Thunder was pounding almost all night, and there was a bit of rain. Very rare. Here's a shot from this morning - odd to see the dunes wet!

Moving along to the next beer from Namib Dunes Brewing. Iris Red. This one uses roasted Maris Otter malts. Very enjoyable. Cheers!

Good early afternoon. I would love to have one of those freshly baked baguettes and some butter to slather it with. There was this one patisserie (Left Bank) that I visited every morning for two weeks. I was waiting in line everyday with the locals. It was fun. And La Chouffe is one of my favorite all time beers. Have a nice Saturday!

Good day BAs! Usual chores done…I will join @Roguer with a KBS MMF:

Bottled 8/8/22. Poured at 50°. My favorite KBS. I’ve moved outside, sitting on the patio enjoying the sunshine and 74°. An occasional slight breeze makes it all the better.

Not sure if we are doing anything today. We will see…have a super Saturday y’all and Cheers!

So glad you like it Tim! I put another 4pk in the “cellar” yesterday as the beer ages nicely and retains its fudgey bourbon soul. Cheers buddy!

Enjoying another Festbier in a new glass that I got in the mail yesterday. The beer tastes even gooder now.
