Yeah, the only issue I had was I was at work and not near my phone at the time as it was unexpected so my buddy had to wait a few. In Sandwich I have always just told them any other orders I was picking up and that worked fine but for some reason this guy would not do that. Not a huge deal but just wanted others to know in case they end up in a similar position.

We took the drive out to Deerfield today on a whim to see the foliage. Like everyone else. The Rt 2 drive was incredible for views and color. Which for sure led to the really fng long lines for pours. But they have done an excellent job with the outside ground there. Met some really nice folks. Certainly a bigger tap list than Sandwich but similar I feel, in overall options. So much less than Charlton. Staff was great as always but they could’ve used 2 or more additional folks behind the bar. Would’ve helped the lines for pours. It’s nice to have yankee candle to swing by after and then shoot to Northampton. Always enjoy Northhampton brewery and enjoyed a black cat stout and a taste of the ladies Pilsner. Fantastic ginger carrot soup to share.

We very much enjoyed visiting Progression brewing today. Certainly a hop forward brewery but some other nice options that we felt were done well. Enjoyed the tap room and the woman behind the bar was great. Also, fun to be feet away from where I had some of my early stage dives and slamming at the Pearl St mid 90’s.

Haymarket coffee shop’s Cold Brew is fng awesome as well in town.

I’d say until after leaf peeper season expect long ass lines, even in Deerfield.

Any advice on the location I should visit next fall? Planning a beer trip and Tree House is on my list. Thinking Charlton is the go to?

Depends on where you are staying, car access, etc.

I think Charlton is the best for overall since it has the lightest “restrictions” (no restrictions) for a visit in terms of timing, reservations, etc. That could all change by next fall, but Charlton is the headquarters.

Plus, they’ll have the largest draft availability/to go selection.

In another year, there may be 1-2 more locations to choose from if the current rate of expansion continues. That said, Charlton's always gonna be hard to top.

Charlton is going to have everything. The other locations are kinda pick up locations/taprooms. I hope that Tewksbury is up and rocking by then (it's pick up only at the moment), since it's closest to me (and Boston). I think you should be able to get most of the cans you'd want at any location. Charlton is certainly the Disney World compared to everything else, but if you have other stuff planned for your trip, I wouldn't necessarily go out of the way just to go to Charlton.

Visiting Charlton the first week of November. Planning a few pours plus a case to bring back. How much time would one typically allocate for a Sunday visit, assuming 2-3 pours? Ideally I would be there right at opening, unless that means more time spent waiting in line.

I was at Charlton this past Sunday. We spent just over two hours and did two pours during that time.

Something to keep in mind if the 3 pour limit pp is in place, you cannot order/they won’t serve 3 beers at a time for yourself. I mention this because we did our first pours from the Classics Bar and the line was about 20 or so people, but moved quickly-10 minute wait. We did our second pours from the Main Bar and that took nearly 30 minutes. By the time I was up to order at the bar, the line for the Main Bar winded all the way out past the main entrance-maybe a 100 people deep?

My suggestion, scout the draft list beforehand and if your main focus is the Main Bar, then do two quick runs to secure the three pours. Pick up two and put them on your table and then get back in line for the 3rd. I would not want to wait in a line that long for a 3rd pour and waste all that time for my visit.

Of course crowd/wait time times can vary with arrival timing and weather. We were there at open and settled at a table within minutes and it was a gorgeous day.

I should also note that we have a 2.5 year old so that impacts length of stay/enduring wait times. If you’re solo, then let it rip, but I still wouldn’t want to waste a bulk of my visit in the Main Bar line.

Good luck and I hope it works out well for a great visit for you @ScottWoerner

My two were Ramble (dry hopped German pilsner, oak version of Trail) and Impermanence Extra Maple and Chocolate Truffle. I enjoyed both. I’m a sucker for maple so that Impermanence was a treat.

Are the lines just for pours at Charlton during busy times? I assume pre-ordering and picking up cans doesn't involve a long wait? Thanks in advance.

Correct. Relaying my recent experience from last Sunday at Charlton.

Classics Bar was a 10 minute or less. Main Bar was a little over 20 mins. While I was in it and by the time i had left it, it was past the main entrance.

My wait for my can order, pre-ordered around two cases, 5-10 minutes. There was no line.

This was with an arrival at open and a good weather day.
