I’m glad it all arrived safe and sound. This all started with the glass. I tried getting an awesome Pilsner glass with the old fashioned Leafs logo on it I’d seen around town for years when I originally found out you were a fan. That was before the last box. I couldn’t find it anywhere, so sent those cans last time without it. Then, a couple months back, I ran across this one. I though was pretty nice, and I wanted to send something back for that great box you sent me, so…

There are a couple classics in this one because you liked that brown ale from Black Oak I sent last time. The St Amboise stout has been on the Canadian top list here for a decade. They are sort of the original Montreal craft brewery. The GLB Pompous Ass is from one of Toronto’s oldest too. The Red Tape beers are interesting and pretty good, but were sent more for the Nunavut connection than anything. I’d packed the William Street ones up before trying them all. They are ok. You are likely the first American to try anything from them though which I hope makes up for the middling quality I suppose.

The Bas Canada stout is their flagship big stout. They are the closest thing to a Side Project here. Stuff is released and sells out in under a minute online. I know a guy a though. I’m very curious as to what you think of it. They are generally considered the best brewery in the country.

I took the tour of the ship in 2011, and loved it. Sadly, anyone who lives in this state is excluded. I did enjoy the beers from that state when I visited in 2018, and have had 10 beers from said state.
Hint #12 - I have had the misfortune to have a layover at Newark Airport twice. Sadly if you live in that state, you're out.
Hint #13 - Your state has more Congressional Districts than mine does.
Hint #14 - Your State House, and State Senate has fewer members than my state does. Your Senate has about half mine does, and your House has about 20 fewer than mine does.
Hint #15 - The college I went to - St. Cloud State University - is in the NCHC league for Division 1 Hockey. If your state has a team in the NCHC, you're still in.
Hint #16 - You've not posted as much in this thread as I have. Hopefully you've seen these clues, and know you're not excluded.
Hint #17 - Your state actually fought a war with a neighboring state over where the border lies. No one died, but one was wounded.

You're too kind, I love the classics that places brew so those ones you sent will be on the top of my list for this weekend. First up for the big beers is the coffee maple one, I got that one in the fridge now. I'll replace it with the bas one when, once it is drank.

Oh and "go habs" too...unless that is some nickname used only south of the border, insert proper nickname. They did a little Suzuki recorded interview the other night about his new "C" and it was pretty neat, made me really like a guy a didn't know much about.

 

Right now there's 3 people who it could be. I hope my target will call me out this weekend. I think with the next hints I will give (I will drop at least one more after work today) it's likely.

I haven't ruled you out, but I have been your target before, so I'm leaning "no", but, shenanigans occur.

 

One of our friends, one of the local bottle share regulars, moved about an hour south to Everett a couple years ago after taking a new job closer to Seattle. Well, he's coming up today for a Birthday Brewery Crawl here in his hometown. I'm pretty sure containers will be obtained that will end up at my targets domicile in about a week.

 

It's a slippery slope! You see it starts with pastry stouts and milkshake IPAs and wet hops and next thing you know... nothing is sacred any more! Get off my lawn!

Woah, woah, woah... he's over on the east side. They're a whole different beast. We have good sandwich shops here on the wet side. Better than Arby's, even! Don't lump us all in together!
