This beer is a shape shifter, it gives impressions of fruity on the nose and soft on the tongue at first before quickly becoming a bitter drying glorious resiny IPA; a lovely beer. Thanks Peter.

PS…I got your team on tonight

I start a short vacation tomorrow and will have a chance to catch up on the last couple days then. In the mean time, I know I have more than one possibility but I only have one suspect. So, @Roguer are you my sender?

Trying to decipher @WunderLlama and his code, still no idea where that's going. Probably ruled out @MacMalt given the recent sportsball clue. So, according to my spreadsheet *checks napkin*, that leaves either the mysterious Llama or the laconic @superspak as my sender. I'll wait for further information before making my guess. Or maybe I won't.

Sadly for you (assuming you like New England breweries), @woemad has already correctly identified me as his sender. :grinning:

Hint #1: I'm not shipping to a point as close to the Pacific Ocean as I did in NBS BIF #14.
    Hint #2: I estimate there's a 77.78% chance my target is a Poo-Bah.
Hint #3: My state's flagship university doesn't play my target's in football this season. But they've previously played more than once.
Hint #4: Lots of talk of rivers on this thread. Assuming the delivery truck driver doesn't get lost, on the trip to my target's home my boxes will cross the navigable portions of at least two major rivers and perhaps a few minor ones.
Hint #5: Our son was on the crew team in college and we attended many of the regattas in which he participated. But he never rowed in the crew event located less than 10 miles from my target.
Hint #6: My target shares something in common with one of the founders of his community (besides living there).
Hint #7: This guy may have had the best sense of humor of any NFL Coach. And he needed it given how bad some of his teams were.

    It should be fun.
The tricky thing is I usually send a lot of Fremont stuff and you've had most of their big offerings, ha, so part of why I said I had to rely more on recommendation and reputation than normal. I think it'll all work out in the end. I'm also actually really enjoying focusing less on IPA options as well and getting to send out some of the more old-world styles that I think some of the breweries out here do pretty darn well. I guess that counts as a haul hint.
    Welcome back to the states!!
And I'm secretly the most proud, I think, that you picked up the JMT clue.

Hint #11 - According to my target's extensive review list, they've either traveled or traded quite a bit (or both). However, they've never checked in a beer from my current top 5 CA brewery list - Sante Adairius, Moonlight, Wondrous, Private Press, or Slice.

Hint #12 - While California has some impressive mountains, my target's state isn't too shabby in the mountain department.

Well, now I'm all in a tizzy.
I already levelled one accusation about my sender, which I thought was pretty ironclad. I had another one of whom I was pretty suspect as a backup option. But now with the clues from today, there's a third who seems like an almost lock as well! I may have to amend my accusations, though first I need @2beerdogs to confirm or deny my first guess!!

My brother in law was working up in Golden, BC the first time I met him. My wife's twin sister flew in to Seattle, and the three of us (and the dogs) drove up to visit. The sister in law flew out of Calgary back to NYC, so we stopped and grabbed a couple of items while we were in town. We didn't have much time, so I didn't get to really dig in and grab anything overly exciting.
I don't remember off the top of my head, but the only ones I wrote up on here were Last Best's Bock Chain (I think we had dinner there. I'm also pretty sure I had a couple of draft pours at said dinner, but didn't write any of them up) which was... meh, and an IPA from Whitetooth actually in Golden which I apparently really enjoyed.

I did when I saw Anne Frank, and I thought that my name isn't Frank, so I was out. Several other pictures, and clues just didn't seem to fit me.

I never thought to look at the first letters of your hints. I did today, and it was a sledgehammer.

I did let my good friend know I was getting beer from California, and he was excited (he lived for several years in the Seattle area). I will be sharing some of them, because I love to share beer. He was stoked to get a Femont IPA that I picked up while in Montana a couple months back.

All I know is I am honored to be your target.

    Hint #1
    My target will receive beer.
    Hint #2
    Shipping east.
    Hint #3
At some point in this BIF, I will unashamedly lie through my teeth.
    Hint # 4
While I have been in my target's state, I have not drank beer while there. I have, however, had beer from their state.
    Hint #5
While I have never slept overnight in my target's state, my grandfather did so for quite a lot of his youth.
    Unnumbered hint
    See post #408
    Hint #6
I have only been on one battleship (at least in this country. I've been on a sailing battleship and an ironclad battleship, but both were in the UK). It was not in a harbor in the state it was named for. I've actually been on it several times, both when it was moored in reserve not far from a former sub sandwich shop that @Roguer used to work at, and more recently at its current location. Incidentally, although my state of current and long-time residence does not have a battleship named after it that has been preserved, the state I was born in once had a battleship as a memorial, until one day in the early 1940s when it did not. That battleship had something in common with a ship linked to my target.
    Hint #7
I do not reside in the state I was born in. While they have not authoritatively said so, I think my target has that in common with me. This is a guess.
    Hint #8

My state of residence is not one of the original 13 colonies. Neither is the state of residence of my target.
    Hint #9
My target has reviewed or rated more beers than me.
    Hint #10
When my grandfather, growing up in my target's state of residence, would periodically decide to run away from what was basically an evil stepmother situation, he'd hop a train. He first did this at age 9. Where was the train going? Same place where you find Revolution Brewing.
    Hint #11
No president has hailed from my state. My target can say the same...at least since the end of the 19th century.
    Hint #12
According to a highly unscientific survey done by asking Google, the most well-known person from my target state shares the same name as a badge on untapped.
    Hint #13
Judges in my target's state really know how to party.
    Hint #14
The NFL team I root for once spent a high draft pick on a player from near where my target resides. Bill Walsh was really high on that player. He was wrong to feel that way about him.
    Hint #15
It ended okay, though, as a team much closer to my target traded a #1 pick for him. Someone in this BIF may still be upset about this, but I'm not sure it's my target, as he might not be a football fan, or he might be a Vikings fan based on previous residence elsewhere.
    Hint #16*
I have not received beer from my target.

    * It's worth noting that I was going to use this hint around # 4 or 5 or so but I forgot. It would've been better placed there.
    Hint #17.
Remember how I mentioned that my target's state has not supplied any U.S. presidents for over a century? Well, you can't say that about Vice Presidents.
    Hint #18
Remember when I referred to a battleship named after my target's state? There's been more than one. Another one that served during World War Two was scrapped around the same time that the USS Washington went to the breakers. However, unlike my home state's battlewagon, a small portion of it survives. In fact, on Saturdays my target can include it in their tailgating if they are so inclined, so long as they don't go looking for it at the big stadium fairly close by their home.

Received from @woemad and enjoyed on 10/25/22
Poured crystal clear honey gold with a straw color head that left regular lacing.
The aroma was more fruit forward than I expected, the barley rounds that out and pine just gets hinted at.
The taste started smooth, balanced between biscuit and mango and some floral touches. Odd I thought, an IPA literally from the west with no pine? Ah, it builds. By the time I was halfway through the piney hops took over and the rest took up support roles.
The feel was ideal for the genre, much to quaffable, I could drink this by the liter.
    OA, darn good beer!

I figured that IPA would be up your alley. Bellwoods used to make a tonne of bitter IPAs back in the day. They seem to be getting back to it a little with this and a couple recent collabs.
