Good day BAs! Thanks again @Shanex for today’s opening of the VB. The usual chores done, it’s coffee time - 8 Wired Brewing Co., Warkworth, New Zealad, “iStout Affogato”, imperial stout with lactose, coffee and vanilla added:



No canning date. 14.9 ozs. Best by 7/28/24. Probably canned 7/28/22. Poured at 54°. Dark tan head of mixed bubbles settle to a fizzy head with ok cap retention; solid ring, some soapy lace initially as well as a covering of micro dots; no legs on swirl. Chocolate and roast coffee nose. Coffee front and center followed by bitter roast; semi sweet chocolate; looking for vanilla; roast coffee finish. Smooth (lactose) creamy feel; medium body; moderate minus carbonation; no warmth from 10% abv. Overall a very enjoyable coffee stout; well balanced with a good amount of coffee, roast and chocolate; pleasant roast bitterness linger.

I enjoyed drinking 8 Wired beers when we were in NZ, so I was happy to see this beer offered on Tavour recently. One of the best breweries, imo, in that country. Glad I got a couple of cans.
