No, no other place doing the volume and variety - not just beer, but everything else too - that TH does. Certainly their lack of distribution is one factor.

The only Brewery I can think of that might be in TH's neighborhood as far as beer selection variety is Other Half. They do have a lot of different cans for sale all the time (at their Centre St. BK location) and are distributing also but are not doing seltzers, ciders or spirits.

Yeah OH FLX also has 20+ different options on a given day. Not in the same ballpark as TH volume-wise though.

I’m counting 70+ cans and 15+ bottles. No, no other brewery is remotely close to doing what Tree House is. One brewery that deserves the hype as quality is pretty much on point.

That said. Evil Julius? Another variation? Come on, they can’t expect me to buy it. Ohhh, it’s in black cans, alright I’m in.

It's only logical that one of the best NE IPAs on the market can be vastly improved upon with subsequent and endless variations, which usually just means increasing the ABV.

I think they just do this so you get a little tipsy faster and not care that you paid more for a beer that basically shouldn't even be in the same family as Julius, and isn't nearly as drinkable.

I got Evil Julius last year and wasn't a fan. It was very overly sweet. I feel the same about Emperor Julius.

Not a fan of Evil Julius either.

On a related note, this past weekend we did a side by side tasting of the Julius family with 6 people, all blind. King Julius & JJJulisss were overwhelmingly #1 and #2. The rest of the lineup people had #3-#5 mixed rankings... below is mine.

    King Julius
    JJJulisss
    Julius
    King JJJuliusss
    Emperor Julius
    Juli-ish

Couldn't agree more. When they push the boundries, it just hasn't worked for me.

Does anyone know if the Project Find Your Limit series is directly tied into some of these higher ABV beers? I know Evil Julius isn't a new recipe, but were some tweaks from that experiment put towards this or other beers with a higher hopping rate that have come out recently?

The description of The Greenest Green mentions that they're using some of the techniques they learned from the Find the Limit series.

Cordial. Rye whisky barrel aged imperial stout conditioned on cocoa nibs and cherries. Sounds tasty.

I don't recall seeing much discussion about their bourbon? What are people's first impressions?
