    Good Afternoon Thirstday Advocates!

Beauty of a fall day. Lots of yard work completed and detailed my car. No lack of sand from a long beach season.

Beginning today with good ol' Snappy. She never disappoints.

    Cheers!

Was fortunate enough to acquire a bottle of EHT Bigfoot. A touch of citrus enhanced nicely by the barrel aging which lends notes of raisin, vanilla, and leather. World class!
    Cheers!

Tonight’s Blind Battle Beer Tasting Lineup:

    1) New Glarus Bubbler (4.0%):
A Hefeweizen from Wisconsin with flavors of German bread spice, wheat, cloves, banana, bubblegum. Strong flavors, yeast, carbonation. Drinks clean.
    versus
    2) Lakefront Wisconsinite (5.2%):
A Hefeweizen from Wisconsin with flavors of tart lemon citrus. A flat body and a tart lemon finish.
    versus
    3) Raised Grain Summer Vice (5.4%):
A Hefeweizen from Wisconsin with flavors of orange citrus spice, wheat, and banana. Slightly sweet.
    versus
    4) Great Dane Crop Circle Wheat (5.5%): A Hefeweizen from Wisconsin with flavors of lemon citrus, wheat, German bread spice of banana and cloves. Clean with some lingering citrus.

    5) Drekker Make it Spooky (8.0% canned 10/3/22): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Hallertau Blanc, Belma & Citra for flavors of lemon citrus, citrus and pineapple rind, pine. Clean and astringent.
    versus
    6) Drekker Neon Phenom (8.4% canned 9/28/22): A NEIPA from North Dakota with Strata, Vic Secret, and Huell Melon for flavors of passionfruit citrus, green guava and melon. Tropical.
(Somehow all beers correctly matched blind. Admittedly, a little proud of that.)
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
    Winners/Rankings:

    #1 New Glarus Bubbler:
This one perfectly captures the essence of a hefeweizen. Strong German bread spices with cloves, banana, bubblegum. Yeasty, carbonated, clean. Extremely flavorful for the lower ABV. One of the top American Hefeweizens.
#2 Raised Grain Summer Vice: Has a nice orange citrus spice and authentic German wheat flavors of banana and wheat. The citrus gives it a slight American twist, but still has authenticity of banana and clove. Slightly sweet
#3 Great Dane Crop Circle Wheat: Drinks like a 50:50 citrus wheat and Hefe. Lots of lemon citrus and wheat, but still enough bread & spice to clean it up on the finish. Somewhat similar to #2.
#4 Lakefront Wisconsinite: Tart lemon citrus. Drinks flat, sweet citrus and tart. The worst of the bunch.

    6) Drekker Neon Phenom:
This one has a nice passionfruit citrus, guava, and green melon flavor. Lots of passionfruit, but just enough tropical sweetness as well. Overall drinks pretty dry and clean. Make it Spooky had hop flavors that just weren't quite my cup of tea.

Thought i would follow-up with a regular Bigfoot out of curiosity. Yep, as imagined, it is citrusy and hoppy.
    Cheers!

San Miguel Cerveza Negra European Dark Lager, 5% ABV. Pours dark brown with a three-finger beige head that left some lacing. Nose is roasty malt, taste follows, plus caramel, slight malt sweetness, slight bitterness. Excellent mouthfeel, overall excellent. I don't drink a lot of lagers, but I like this.

Early dinner today as I've been challenged to billiards next door. Could be a late night.

Keeping to light beers for now. I dig this one from Schilling!

Fortifying myself with a light meal... Bianco & Sons hot Italian sausage that was taking a bath in the sous vide for a couple hours before searing off. Accompanied by Aglio e Olio with a mere 20 cloves of garlic. Should power a cue for some solid breaks!

    Cheers Folks!

Today, out in the courtyard, beer, book, and pupper all out with me.

Orval in the glass, one of my all time favorites.

My pupper Moe is looking for his friends but they aren't out...one of my neighbors just moved so he can't play with their dogs in the courtyard anymore. My other neighbor is usually out with her kid, but not today. So Moe is just kind of board, and wondering why I like being out here doing nothing ha.

    Burning Bush Brewery Smooth Serpent

    7.5% ABV American IPA

    Appearance:
Caramel bronze clear base, bright white head leaves fine lacing. Light carbonation. Draft pour, guessing it’s a 16 oz pour. 4.0

    Aroma:
Stone fruit, pine and citrus, in that order, mild to medium in strength. Smells sweet. 3.75

Taste: Pine, light dankness, citrus. Nice bitterness, warmth but ok, though had initial hop burn. No stone fruit noted in the aroma. 3.5

Mouthfeel: Dry bitter, drinks at the listed ABV. Clean finish, pine dry aftertaste. 3.75

    Overall:
This is a good effort, like the piney bitterness. Would try other offerings from this new to me brewery. 3.75

Heading over to Revolution to meet with WBAYDN Eric @eppCOS and other BAs.

    Cheers!
