thanks to @DoctorZombies for starting us up on a slow (for me), groggy, Tuesday.
Think I caught a bit of a cold after uh... um.. over-doing my Sunday night out in the city? In any case, it was worth it. At that last Half Acre stop, I met two Chicago locals, and we went to Hopleaf for the 30th anniversary tap takeover of FFF at Hopleaf and they had all of the Floyd's stuff on tap including some barrel-aged stuff. First time trying BA Behemoth (barleywine). Then a final stop at the Red Lion Pub on Lincoln, a pint of Guinness and that was the evening. Love the Red Lion and that it has survived the pandemic, so many corner/small places did not.

Yesterday was just travel, and realizing I may have have caught a bit of a bug. Zinc'ing up after this N/A, about all I can handle with a slightly congested head and a weird voice

Keep on keepin' on! And of course... cheers!

That sounds like quite the pub crawl! Load up on the zinc and be well - Cheers!

Yeah, to be fair, that all came AFTER stops at Dovetail and Spiteful, too! 52 and still not afraid to do dumb things.
    Cheers!

Good day BAs! Thanks @DoctorZombies for starting today's thread. Looks like a possibly rainy day, actually maybe several coming up - every time I come down, it rains. Think I'll approach the TX govenment about paying my way down - if it rains after I get here, they eat the cost. If it doesn't, they pay nothing. Seems like a win-win rather than a zero sum.

    Today's (Not New) Breakfast Beer:

I figure I was lucky to find a single bottle of this at Spec's on De Zavala - at home it's history and I like it (The beer, not that it's history!).

Another thing I like about Texas is everyone's so darn friendly, even the buzzards just drop by:

Straub Lager after working night shift in Western PA.
Recommended by a co worker and better than expected. I've been drinking Pacifico, Peroni, and Miller Lite. Straub Lager is beating those. Glad I tried it. My new go-to beer.

I needed some more coffee - “Wake Up World Wide Stout”:

My best stab at code dating (255 2) is approximately 9/21/22. Poured at 52°. Dark tan head sits atop black body; ok cap retention; heavy ring, spots of lace, thin legs. Mild coffee but really more cooked green peppers nose; milk chocolate; boozy exhale. Taste is mild roast coffee, boiled green bell peppers, bitter roasted malt, bittersweet dark chocolate; just a smidge of honey as beer warms; vegetable/green peppers finish. Creamy smooth (oats & lactose) feel; medium body; face flushing warmth from 17% abv; moderate minus carbonation. Overall I don’t like the way this beer smells or tastes; other than some bitterness, nothing like WWS I’ve had over the years…another unrefridgerated shelf-turd in the making at Total Wine; glad I only bought one.

    4.25 | 3.75 | 3.5 | 3.75 | 3.5
    Score: 3.63 rDev - 15.2%

I hate giving out low scores (yes, this is my version of a low score = C-), but this beer was so disappointing. If you have this beer my suggestion is you don’t age it and drink up now - Cheers brothers and sisters of the Now!

    Hey BA's

Happy foggy Tuesday - got a bit of "drizzle" while walking with Emma earlier - my kind of weather - hardly any other people out! Happy November!

Two year old R. Shea Twitchy - pretty tasty stuff

Abita Purple Haze. Tastes light and fresh but the last 2 times I've had it has nuts and bolts in it. A lot of floaties.

My beverage center has been carrying that for the past few months, I’ll have to give it a try.

Trillian Brewing Co. -- Double Dry Hopped Stilling Street
Double dry hopped India pale ale
ABV: 7.2%; pouring temperature: n/a; canning info: n/a
Source: @GreenBayBA (Nordic Wisonsonite par excellence)

    4.06/5 rDev -6.5%
    look: 4 | smell: 4.25 | taste: 4 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Pale yellow and hazy body, resembles white grapefruit juice; thin, foam, white head. The aroma bursts with citrus notes; grapefruit and orange; light biscuit underpinning. The taste brings expected citrus flavors, resembling what the smell delivers; resinous bitterness; some alcohol presence. Heavy body; acidic with a mild abrasiveness; some boozy sharpness.

I find this beer to be a nice representation of a New England hazy India pale ale.

...Mickey Mouse is still off of 3rd Street in downtown Mansfield, both faded memories of their old glory...

That was my last Warsteiner, so naturally I've moved on to Celebration Ale
