Hey advocates happy Thursday to all.

To honor WBAYDN #3666 have decided to drink Duvel, a fair choice always.

    This is from yesterday afternoon:

Not bad, as with everything practice and an almost daily one helps. Worked essentially on her eyes and mouth with some success…

    Cheers!

What's with images not showing at times here BA!?! I am on an iPhone but seems PC users are immune.. calling IT help desk @LarryV

#194 Nugganooch, Yesterday at 10:49 PM

@Nugganooch I tried replying to your original post at 5:47 am today and the thread was already locked.

Actually, this does happen on PC's as well, I've had it happen to me. Usually it's network related - all the images have to be downloaded from the servers and if there's an outage or slow response from a server it can cause that issue.

If I run a speed test I can see that my network speed is fine and if I do a trace, I can actually see where it's waiting on a response from a particular server. I just do a page refresh and if that doesn't work, the problem just usually fixes itself. On an iPhone, sometimes you can end up having a ton of apps running in the background - try closing some of the open apps to see if it helps. But there's a lot of variables involved and it's generally going to be network related.

As an example - I had a user yesterday that couldn't connect to the state VPN. When I tried, I had the same issue. Everything else seemed to be working fine. When I did a trace route I could see that the traffic was leaving the school network and was hanging at an Edge server in New York that routes the traffic to the state VPN. So that's where the bottleneck was and the traffic wasn't getting past that point for whatever reason. Once that issue was fixed then we had no problem getting to the state VPN.

Think of it like going to the store to pick up an item - usually it's fast and easy, but then one day there's an accident or something causing a big delay so you get stuck waiting to get to the store.

    Early morning cheers!

Looks quite good to me. Practice pays off and the more you do it and learn from your mistakes, the better you get. Really nice job on the eyes, the detail and light reflection is excellent.

Good day BAs, and thanks @Shanex for getting us going today. Dogs walked and fed, kitchen cleaned, I’m sitting on the patio this steamy 75° morning drinking FBS:

Bottled 6/8/22. Poured at 52°. I’ve got some remaining housecleaning chores to do, then I’m off to the pub for lunch and to drop off beers for Saturday’s monthly bottle share. Cheers and have a great day y’all!

Good day BAS! Thanks to @Shanex for starting today's thread! Of to a gloomy start today in south central TX - supposed to rain on and off for the next couple of days. Friday is the biting of the sausage at my brother's Oktoberfest/Wurstfest celebration which will include a couple of minikegs of Gulden Draak as well as a shit ton of Warsteiner Dunkel and Shiner Oktoberfest, and lots of German polka- and Tejano- music.

Today's Old Breakfast Beer is one of my favorites I can't find outside the SAT area:

I drink this at any temp - this one is RT (and 7.1% ABV).

In fact I think I'll have another.

My posts in WBAYDN threads are usually pretty spartan but I think that this beer deserves a few words.

When it comes to hazies, I find the vast majority (including many from reputable breweries like Tree House) to be hard to drink. The beers always look very inviting and the aroma is heavenly, but the taste (and particularly aftertaste) leaves a lot to be desired, with a complete lack of bitterness (by design, I know), an unpleasant hop burn, and a lingering nail polish removal note that I personally find very off-putting. This has led me to generally avoid hazies, unless they are given to me, they are a whale (I admit that I do love chasing them whales) or I know for a fact that they are well made and to-my-taste.

Well, I have to say that after tasting a couple of Civil Society's beers (Fresh Comets and Fresh And Wet) I find them to be spot on. I have yet to try their flagship, Fresh, but I assume it must belong in the same category as the two above. Drinking this Fresh And Wet (a rendition of Fresh that is made with the addition of some wet hops) at the moment. I am experiencing a beautiful haze, solid head, tropical yet resin-y aroma, and a taste that is very well-balanced, bitter and without any weird notes. One may call it "non-complex" but I would disagree, as this is a beer that offers no unnecessary distractions. Well done Civil Society. I shall be looking for more of your beers.

Amen brother! I’ve tried over 200 different hazies and I didn’t like most of them for the same reasons you expressed. Between the astringency and the oppressive mouthfeel, many brewers, I think, are just chasing the haze craze and produce, for me, unenjoyable IPA…and yet I keep trying hazies. Civil Society, for me, has the “style” dialed in, and Fresh is currently my favorite FL brewed IPA. CS is the Other Half equivalent down here - consistent, tasty, drinkable, enjoyable. PM me and next time I get Fresh I’ll send a couple your way. Cheers!

Thanks Larry for the compliments and even more so encouraging me to keep at it.
You were on the money when you told me several weeks ago that both enjoying doing something and getting better at it was key. I’m halfway through. Cheers!

Productive morning thus far…one load folded/put away, one load in the dryer. Break time with KBS MMF:

Bottled 8/8/22. Poured at 54°. I’m going to hide the rest of my stash so I don’t drink it up so quickly. Mrs. Z has been in Charleston SC visiting family the last 10 days; she drives home today and I want to have the place looking good…the Halloween Village stays up for awhile longer  … Cheers y’all!

Where are you geographically located in the Paris area? I could really bore everyone with family historical references to Paris going back two centuries. That Duvel is enticing!
