Perfect. Thanks to you and to @LongTaco15 as well. That's what I was thinking, just wanted to make sure. I've used Universe for Kane releases before so it won't be too unfamiliar (some of them are immediate sellouts, and others hang on for a few hours)... figured this would be of the "immediate" variety but you can never be sure where demand is for releases these days outside of a select few and obviously I'm not too familiar with Half Acre other than the Pony and Daisy Cutter etc. I get on tap.

Excited to try some stuff on tap whether I score tomorrow or not.

if won’t “sell out within minutes” because it’s a lobby that randomly selects people and not a fastest finger contest.

Think I'm sitting Benthic out this year. I gotta reign it in somewhere. All these big price tags are a killer (i.e. Benthic, BBT, Prop Day, Black Friday, etc.). Benthic has always been a little pricey, but basically $200ish OTD for 12 cans. With the Rev season ticket being $400 for 48 cans, that's a hard pill to swallow. I'm sitting out the Binny's lottery for the same reason.

Right there with ya... and then I look at my lotto for KBBS (which I've had), and Benthic starts sounding like a great value somehow with its 12 cans instead of 2 bottle for $200 format. I must be some kind of stupid, but then I remember my two season allotments of Rev for $400 each makes everything warm and fuzzy at night when my head smacks the pillow.

Love Benthic but reigning in somewhere. Might just shoot for picking up a couple reg and skip the kit to my dismay.

Really, I think when you start worrying about the real world value in any of these one-off BA beers it might be game over. Time to hang up the jersey. You've had enough.

I just want to be a normal kid again and not play in the big leagues anymore.

And speaking of, just finished off an Orin '22. Very enjoyable as always. I'll save my $ for more SJ instead, but it's pretty great.

It’s the quantities that are starting to get to me. I can somehow in my privileged mind justify cracking open $40-60 worth of beer on a typical Friday or Saturday night but once I realized all this stuff was adding up and I was doing that on T/W/TH too, just to keep my cellar from growing out of control, it just didn’t make sense any more. My Rev season ticket is great but otherwise I’ve been trying to be very strategic this year.

Absolutely agreed. I think we're lucky to have all these fantastic releases and events in our area. I grew up in Seattle and their BA scene is nowhere near as exciting this time of year, just Fremont releasing the same beer they do every year.

You definitely have to pick your favorites here and I had major FOMO after I skipped Benthic last year. Splitting the whole package with a buddy this year to remedy the cost should help a little... At least that's why I tell myself.

Smoothest Benthic checkout process to-date. Crossing my fingers Big Hugs gets variants this year compared to last year.

I got a little scared with the 4 minute "Processing Order" but made it through just fine.

I guess Half Acre just wanted to get their customers' blood pumping a little with those waiting times, because they know that we're all going to be devouring some sugary, large stouts coming up here... wasn't too painful though, looking forward to trying Benthic for the first time.

Regarding the discussion of to buy or not to buy:

For me, it is simple math. I get 12 BA Coconut stouts, 8 of which are variants, for $17.50 a can on average, and regular benthic is ~$11/can. You can't really get coconut beers, and they are usually pricey as hell. So, for me, this is a slam dunk no brainer, and I'll gladly forgot costs elsewhere for this.

I am also reigning in spending. Basically, my money this year is going to Benthic + other HA BA stouts, BC 2yr BW, and a random SP package or two.

Kind of surprised that it hasn’t sold out yet.

They either made a ton or the price is scaring people off.

Price isn't drastically different. As others have said, I think things like the Rev season tickets really got to a lot of people this year by striking first. Prop day already occurred too, for those that want. KBBS already occurred. Lottery entry for Binny's already took place also.

I think the timing is just poor this year for most people.
