Drink the new bomber, 19.2 cans.

The price point on these cans is really good, old bombers were horribly priced.

    Enjoy

I've found the price point on many stovepipe cans to be the same as many bombers were back in the day, just with less beer. I see overpriced ones like the Yeti variants at $11 and IPAs in $4-$5 range.

Trends in beer seem to be more reactionary than trends in many other things. I wouldn't be surprised if desire for beer made with lactose, toasted marshmallows, pink stars, or green hearts leads to a reactionary desire for for simpler, cleaner, more traditional styles, perhaps updated in some ways to reflect more modern sensibilities

I realize it won’t work for almost any brewer to reinstate them, but with so many options out there now, I do often wish I could get a bomber to share to find out if a beer was worth another purchase. Single 16oz could work, but breaking up 4pks is not always available, and those singles I do see tend towards prices that indicate they aren’t happy being turn away from their brethren.

The train went off the rails some time ago. The caboose is in front and the world is turning relentlessly.

I have been buying Fiddlehead IPA for 2.99 and there are a good amount of National beers in that range, Deschutes, Lagunitas and even Allagash White. When I was in TN last spring this size can was sub $2 at a few spots. I do see some beers in beer stores for substantially more.

    Enjoy

I have only ever seen the macros at that price. The cheapest around here is $4 for the bigger IPAs brands like Stone, Lagunitas, Sierra, Cigar City etc. The locals are often more expensive than that.

Jack, for me that was a basketball sized soft ball. It was fraught with potential. I did what I could just then. Cheers Jack. I hope all is well in Pennsylvania. You know. really.

Trends are good because "trends" are the hallmark of American style in nearly everything--not just beer.

Do I like all of them?

    Hell no.

But I've had some tasty brews that were the direct result of American brewers' pursuit of the next weird trendy thing.

I'm not sure how controversial this may be, but I love German Keller beer. Shelton Brothers used to have Monchshof and Mahrs in their portfolio. Due to Shelton Brothers demise, no importer that I know of, has picked up these Breweries. I've heard many rumors, sent emails to both Breweries, but hear crickets. There was a thread about the Shelton Brothers on the site, but it was closed down, because it went on too long. Why? If people love these beers, where are they suppose to get their info from? Beer drinkers in Germany may have more insight than here in the US. Knowledge is power!

Is Veltins Grevensteiner available in your area?

I discussed this beer in a past NBS thread:

The left beer is my homebrewed Kellerbier.

Have you ever considered homebrewing? You could also make your own Kellerbier.

I have a number of local craft breweries who will occasionally/periodically brew Kellerbiers (e.g., Sly Fox). Do any of your local craft breweries produce Kellerbiers?

    Cheers!

Not to change the subject but... Don't bring your babies/toddlers to breweries... And flights still suck it.
