Thanks for the news Harley. When living in AZ thru Spring 2021, do not recall seeing this hit my bottle shops in PHX and we pretty much got all the big Founder releases. Did a quick scan of reviews and noticed @BMBCLT was not of fan of it. Be curious to hear his thoughts on this brew.
    Cheers!

Been on my wish list for years, so will grab it if I see it.
Have had 2 wheat wines previously ( Industrial Arts experimental, #12? , & The Farmhouse Sweet Fancy Moses ["He brews it" :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:] ) , and though vastly different, I liked them both. Looking forward to trying this one. :sunglasses:

I believe last bottling was 2016 Tom so that’s probably why you haven’t seen any. With regards to the rating you’re speaking of, that user seems to be in the minority of users who did not like this beer. Cheers.

This is very good news. Sweet Repute has been one of my usual answers to posts that ask which beers you miss and/or would like to see reintroduced. I hope the re-released version is as good as the one I rated in 2014. I thought the re-released Mango Magnifico was very disappointing, and am now worried that Sweet Repute may not live up to my memories of its high quality.

I don't remember this one. I will probably grab a single if we get it, though I haven't cared much for most of their recent offerings including Ultimate Oktoberfest and French Toast Bastard. Hoping this one will be a bit more to my liking.

I really enjoyed both of the above stated beers so my hopes are high. Cheers.

I have this one ranked near Fruitwood and Lizard of Koz. Easy pass.

Fantastic...one of my Founders favorites. And I know I'll see it since they have great distribution to Philly

I can’t remember, was sweet repute the same recipe as 2009 nemesis? These were both a couple of my all time favorite beers ever made.

Hopefully it hits the shelves in CA. I traded for a bomber back in the day and really liked it. It was sweet for sure but the maple was really good.

I'll let locals chime in on this, but I would be surprised if the recipes are the same. Nemesis was available in the taproom on tap as recently as June (when my wife and I visited), so it would be odd to see Founder's re-releasing the same beer a few months later under a different label/brand.

I never heard that one before. Similar styles but different enough I would be surprised if they swapped names that way. Cheers.

I had to look up my old score. 4.2? Sure, sounds like I will buy again based on my review:

Appearance: Orangish with decent white head and light lacing.

Smell: Oak, bourbon, vanilla, coconut, caramel and maple syrup.

Taste: Very Bourbon forward, with oak, vanilla, coconut, maple syrup and booze. Some light caramel and toffee, like a Barleywine, but not as forceful. While the beer is certainly sweet, the finish is more biting, with oak, vanilla and burnt syrup.

Feel: Silky smooth fairly and creamy. Not as thick as I expected. Dries up a little on the finish, making this much easier to sip than expected.

Overall: Nice to have another great Backstage beer from Founders, after some relatively weak ones over the course of the last year and a half. Not quite as good as Nemesis 2009, but still damn good.

Now I’m starting to get the correlation between Nemesis 09 and Sweet Repute @beerhan and you may be on to something. Let me do some more digging. Cheers.
