    Saturday night is brought to you live from the office of AzfromOz, blasting Pearl Jam and melting in the afterglow of a Bourbon County Brand Fourteen Stout, courtesy of @TurkeysDrinkBeer.

    This beer is as rare as - rarer even - than hens' teeth in this part of the world. The base beer's legend is known, however, and I've known a dozen people - me included - to share a bottle when it makes a much-anticipated appearance. To be able to sit down and introduce myself to this beer and spend the best part of an hour getting to know it has been an awesome experience. As with all great beers it exceeds the sum of its parts and delivers on every level. I wouldn't want to operate heavy machinery afterwards, but there's no fear of that happening on this lazy Saturday evening.

    To bastardise a classic Aussie beer ad from the 80s, may this lazy Saturday never disappear, and may it hold back the Monday for the rest of the year...

    The main bloke in this ad is Alan Border, Australia's cricket captain of the mid-80s and early 90s, and my childhood hero! The other guys are sundry Queensland cricketers - with the bloke at the end of the conga line known universally as Fat Cat. God Bless the 80s!

    Hello Az, thanks again for being often our weekend host for those threads.

    St Bernardus Abt 12 isn’t a rare beer here and is even fairly cheap to American or OZ standards.

    So what to complain about today? The damn weather, foggy, cold, humid and overall dreary. It’s November I guess.

    I was going to drink pretty much all this Saturday but my partner just kicked my butt seeing I was getting more tipsy sip after sip of St. Bernardus and suggested I do home chore with her.

    I said yes, but not before I drink Cuvée des trolls.

    Top of the morning from Western North Carolina, working on my first cup of the day. A bit early for me to have hard coffee!
    @AzfromOz - Yes, Fourteen was very good and my favorite BCBS variant from last year. Still have the second bottles of Cherry Wood and Classic Cola sitting in my beer fridge - hmmm, may have to crack one of those later! Looking forward to this year's BCBS and variants in about two weeks!
    @Shanex , ABT12 is my favorite Belgian i can get my hands on regularly! I have not seen that bottle cap before, only the second row middle from below. And yes, our partners tend to keep us line LOL!

    Collaboration IPL made by maybe three breweries, the only one I'm confident about is Fujizakura Kougen. Named Calm Crispy. Very good.

    This is going to be an intense weekend for me. I am going to see Cannibal Corpse/Dark Funeral/Immolation/Black Anvil tonight, then will travel from the hotel I am staying at in Milwaukee, WI, to Lambeau Field tomorrow morning, to witness Mike McCarthy return home to Green Bay, WI, as his Dallas Cowboys completely dominate the Green Bay Packers. I will start the journey today with a stop at Central Waters Brewing's Milwaukee, WI, location. I like the new glossy labels this, their signature beer has for this year's release, though I don't understand why they removed the year notch the label traditionally had.

    BB Date 31/08/2023. Not sure if back dating is 3 or 5 years. Poured at 56°. Another great example of the style, this one with some light hop bitterness.

    Mrs. Z told me last night that she wants to go to a downtown art festival (Dunedin) but I looked it up and it’s next weekend. Guess I’ll work some in the yard as it is a beautiful sunny day so far. Cheers y’all!
