Yet another beer courtesy of @foundersasap
    [IMG]
Appearance is a bright, golden orange with a medium amount of short-lived head receding to a thin cap. Aroma has some nice sweet malts, with bread & faint cracker. Taste is simple, clean and delicious. It's a little bit sweet, with no hops and simple malts. Super, super easy going down. Is it revolutionary? No, but it's another beer courtesy of @foundersasap that I could drink all day long.

Jeff, I've really been enjoying all these beers. Thanks again for your generosity!

    4.24/5 rDev +5.2%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4.5 | taste: 4.25 | feel: 4 | overall: 4

Packaged on 10/21/22 - consumed on 11/12/22 - poured from a 16oz can into my Dogfish Head shaped pint glass.

Unclear gold liquid with three fingers of rocky ivory up top. Rich soapy lacing; excellent retention.

Herbaceous, citrus-laden nose with tangerine, grapefruit, mango, and scallion. Hops dominate, but are joined by a light biscuit note from the malt.

Resinous, herbal, fruity palate entry with Simcoe dominating. Crisp, light malt backbone with some additional candied citrus notes leading into the dry finish.

Faintly oily yet refreshing; light-bodied, well carbonated. Some warmth from the alcohol.

Excellent, well crafted example of the style.

Decided to have a breakfast beer, or more correctly, an immediately post-breakfast beer. I've always felt like when I do breakfast beers, they should be dark beers. Not sure why, but it just seems appropriate to follow up or accompany a breakfast meal with a porter or a stout as opposed to, say, an IPA or pilsner.

Anyway, I grabbed this Baltic Porter, from Beer'd, that was aged in bourbon and rum barrels:

I feel like this is very very good, almost great, but doesn't quite make it to that level for me on account of how strong the booziness is from the barrel aging right now in the flavor department. There's a decent chance that given a year or two of cellaring, this could become a truly great beer, and I wish I had the restraint to set it aside for that. Should I find another bottle of this, I would definitely choose to lay it down for a bit. And yeah, it's still pretty damn good now on this wintry morning, but I'm willing to bet it would pay off big time to leave it alone for a while. Thanks, @Roguer!

MKE 1 Tattersall Rye Barrel Aged Stout by Central Waters Brewing. At their location in Milwaukee, WI. 15% ABV. The look is pitch black. Very dense. No foam. The smell is intense rye whiskey, dark chocolate, caramel, and vanilla. The taste is intense. Dark chocolate, rye whiskey, graham cracker, and vanilla. There is a slight sweetness. The mouthfeel is thick but smooth, oily, and full. The carbonation is light. Overall, this is one of the best barrel-aged stouts I have ever had!

Served in a plastic cup at 30000 feet by Southwest Airlines. , dirty looks from my wife as I try to take a picture. Mutterings about “…beer geek…” follow

Brewers Notes: Thanks for choosing to spend the next few minutes with this special homicidally hoppy ale. Savor the moment as the raging hop character engages the Imperial Qualities of the Malt Foundation in mortal combat on the battlefield of your palate!

This is our unique version of an ancient style. A style as old as the ocean trade routes of the last centuries of Great Ships. Not as old as the equator they had to cross twice en route, nor as old as the 10,000 miles or so of Di-Hydrogen Oxide and Sodium upon which they sailed, but older than the Circulithium-4 Lentoid that binds the Lupulin Quartnate onto your taste buds. Weird. Think about it. Now stop. OK, go again. Now stop. Think again. And stop. But we digress. Made with 43 different hops and 65 various malts, this redolent ale will likely float your boat, whatever planet you're on.

[IMG] Might as well crack another from Terry. It is the “official share” weekend right?

This one from Bale Breaker. Titled: Hot Tub Lifeguard- Pineapple Mango.

Pours a completely translucent straw gold with a thin head that quickly falls to ring with lots of effervescence. Nose is tart base beer and lime. Taste follows suit with some slight tropical notes and maybe some pineapple on the back end. Feel is very crisp and refreshing. Overall, decent. Cheers @BBThunderbolt for willing my last few weekends with killer beer.

Happy weekend new beer weekend fam; and happy BIF share weekend! Today was the first time I got to a brewery for a beer in a long long time. I met with my friend who I also hadn't seen in a while. It was very nice as it is also a very nice day here but I will welcome the cool weather coming. This is a beer I've wanted to try for a while but was brewery only, used to be cask but now just kegs. Visited there original location, not the new production brewery.

Tonewood Brewing - Burton (3.7% golden bitter)

This is a very attractive looking beer, it pours a slightly cloudy gold with a very creamy almost nitro looking white head. The lacing was superb and lasted for the whole drink, which I slowly consumed over the course of an hour or so.

The nose is quite vibrant to me; full of biscuity bread, a honey like bite, orangey jam, some earthy hops.

Taste is close to nose but it has a minor toasty quality to it as well as a subtle pine note.

Great feel on this beer, light body, smooth and lower carbonation; very creamy and cask like. You can feel the dryness on the tongue and there is a low to moderate bitterness on the finish of this beer.

I really enjoyed this beer a lot, it was very aromatic on the nose and the flavors were very well balanced, drinkability was very high. I really wish this would've saw four packs, it would've been an instant two four pack purchase.

I'll be back later for some more, see you all soon.

Good Saturday afternoon, NBW brethren. In a post earlier today I promised @BigIronH that this afternoon I'd christen the glass he sent me. I like it a lot. It's a hybrid teku-tulip. You'll see a lot of it over the next few weeks. Fort Gratiot is my first beer from Arvon Brewing Co. It's a NEIPA single-hopped with Falconer's Flight. I'm not very familiar with this particular hop but the ale is terrific! It pours a dense, murky dirty tangerine with a thick, creamy, milk-white cap and lots of soapy lacing. It's a classic New England appearance. The fruity nose includes lemon, grapefruit, ripe honeydew, pineapple, vanilla, and soft floral hops. Its taste reminds me of a Creamsicle with sweet tangerine, and melon. I cannot tell whether lactose or oats are used but there is an additional creamy sweetness that is balanced by notes of pine and sharp but clean hop bitterness. This ale is flavorful and a bit unique in a good way. The mouth feel is lovely: thick and creamy with pleasant carbonation and the 7.9% ABV gives it lots of substance. Overall, this is a very fine NEIPA and for me a great introduction to Arvon Brewing Co.

The thing to appreciate about Arvon is they note oats and/or lactose on the can if they’re used. Glad you like it bud. Can’t wait to see what you think about the rest.

Cheers @WunderLlama for this BIF 16 return of fire. Treehouse Project Find The Light No. 10 DIPA, 9.0% ABV; 4.32 overall

Pours a very hazed gold with a pinky of tight eggshell colored head. Rings of lacing & above average head retention

S: Tons of tropical fruit & peaches, plus limes & leafy hops once warm

T: Tangerine, lime, dryness, & passion fruit & a touch of vanilla up front, some green melon as well. Tangerine, lime, grassy hops & green melon as this warms, some papaya & passion fruit, plus dryness & pineapple acidity. Finishes with pineapple acidity, tangerine, lime & a little grassyness

MF: Medium body, super creamy carbonation; fantastic balance

Super drinkability, I like these a bit sweeter, but a minor nit pick

    Southern Grist Kvass

New beer from a great Nashville brewery

Southern Grist Kvass, canned 11.2, opened 11.12, poured into a pint glass

Kvass, Russian for "leaven," is a 16th century beer-like beverage made with grains including wheat, rye, and barley or by using dark rye bread, and often has additions of sugars, birch sap, berries, and fruits fermented with a simple baker's yeast. It's low in alcohol and often flavored with herbs or fruits to knock the bitter edge out. A national drink for Russia, it's also found throughout Eastern Europe.

    Brewers notes:

This Kvass Ale had a mash containing both rye malt and dozens of actual fresh loaves of Rye bread baked by our team at Lauter. This rather obscure, but very traditional Eastern European style is brewed to be a session strength beer that is full bodied and flavorful, while remaining a super drinkable beverage that pairs great with food.

New style of beer for me . Hey, I love rye bread , this has to be good, right?

Pours a translucent golden liquid, pencil thick off white foam cap that immediately fades away . No carbonation , it just sits there on its Kvass

    Aroma is rye, bread, malty

Taste is rye , bready, vague smokiness, hint of lemon citrus

Mouthfeel is low sudsing, hint of sour

Something new to taste, not a style that I would pursue again , I can tick this style off of my list

Gonna get my Kvass out of here and perhaps try another beer. Dos vadanya comrade

Gonna take a lot of alcohol to make this weekend right ( Probably not feasible ).

My Son's team traveled cross state to take on the Valley View High HS Blazers (if we had driven another 12 miles we would drove into the Big Muddy ). We had the #1 East down by 5 & couldn't close it out. They picked on our 2 weakest DBs all night & their guy just scorched the left corner bad on a go route for a TD. We had the ball with 2:30 at the 20 & just failed to drive to field goal range & ended losing 39-41 Bitter pill to swallow, those kids battled all game & came back from 10 down to take the lead. A great Senior Season goes down in flames. Sometimes there is nothing you can do change things. So best to just shut up be there for them

Time for another BIF 16 beer from the Caribbean bound @ovaltine

Just happened to be here while I was. My parent company is in Japan, I had work events last week and meetings next week, which gave me a weekend. Went to a local beer bar and ran into a local beer nerd, who told me about the festival. Otherwise I wouldn't have known.

It's a weird special event where they arrange shipment for specific amounts of the beer(s) brewers want to bring to the festival, so I think for Japan, it's a very special chance to try things they would otherwise never see.

Interesting color - hazy pink guava and pink grapefruit appearance; thick, frothy head, long lasting. Nice tropical and citrus fruit nose; orange and grapefruit. Taste comes across like a watered down fruit slushy - actually very flavorful; very light oat-like presence; esters galore - red berries, grapefruit; assorted tropical fruits; low-key bitterness; mild tartness. Medium-heavy body; a bit coarse and acidic; fruit pith dryness counterpoints the overall juiciness.

This was a mystery beer for NBW BIF #16. I guessed to be some sort of light slushy India pale ale. After seeing the label, I get the watermelon aspect more so. It's a good beer for what it is but not something I'd personally go for.
