    I thought I'd open the virtual bar with a virtually bad pyramid-style poem about a man, a ghost and beer or two.

    So bear with me: :wink:

    The day was done and finished in the town where I was born,
    The house was clean, the chores were done, the lawn was freshly shorn.
    I headed me towards my fridge and reached towards the door;
    Anticipating, salivating, craving for the pour.
    The door swung out, my breath was caught, it crystalised my fear -
    The fridge was empty, nada, nix, devoid of any beer.
    But it was full just ‘ere midday, I’d stocked it merrily.
    But lo what is that in the back there grinning cruel at me?
    A wraith, a ghost, a demon spawned, sitting on my shelf,
    He stretched and grinned and made bow and thus addressed myself:
    “Your beer is vanished on the wind upon a new dimension,”
    “As I am too, so your job now is cure my fell suspension.”
    “FIx the riddle, I’ll be free, with just a little thought,”
    What choice had I, what could I do, though flee I prob’ly ought?
    “What can run but cannot walk and always wears a thong?”
    “Solve it for me, hurry up, but do it in a song”
    “That makes no sense,” I cried aloud, “your diction is all wrong!”
    “There is no start, there is no end, the story has no prong!”
    “I have no answer nor a clue the problem you have sought”
    “It seems the problem here and now is that we both are caught.”
    “I fear my knowledge of the rhyme is but misapprehension,”
    "Now I’ve no beer, and you’re still here. I lack the comprehension!”
    He looked abashed, his time was vexed, was angry with hisself.
    If not for him I’d have my beer, be drinking my top shelf….
    “But what about we make a deal to work for me and thee,”
    “Return my beer and you can stay; we’ll work to get you free.”
    “Ok,” he said, “it’s not that hard, your beer I’ll give a steer,”
    “It’s just around the corner there, a dozen steps from here.”
    I collected all my liquid gold, we sat there on the floor.
    And chatted, joked and merry made and drank a beer or four.
    Thus ends the tale of hidden barley, yeast and maybe corn.
    That’s right, we are both drinking Bud - we’ll feel it in the morn!

    If you're still with me, blame the Breakfast Stout!

    Hell, if we’re starting this early, and since it’s going to be a full day for me, I’ll have another beer before bed.

    The Fun Size Maple Bacon seemed to not be full, and when I poured it, I realized that unfortunately it wasn’t. It somehow lost volume and carb along the way, so after two sips of the super flat (yet flavorful!) beer, it was a drain pour and onto the next one.

    This is the third and last song from King Gizzard’s recent KEXP performance that I’ve posted. All three songs are probably the best 25 minutes of new live music I’ve heard all year. I think it’s safe to describe them as a jam band that’s part jazz, part metal, part funk, part prog, and they somehow do all of those genres quite well, even in the same song.

    I've been slowly introducing myself to King Gizzard. Being more of a Phish/Umphrey's guy, KG has a mix of Zappa, Weather Report, and straight ahead jam band. My main struggle is having enough time in my drive to get through more than a track. Haha. They're such a force.

    Happy Saturday BA's!! The wife got up for work at 0345 and I never really fell back asleep. I've been knocking out chores, laundry, weapons cleaning and some wood and tile floor cleaning while watching 13 Hours. Morning brew is Last Snow from Funky Buddha and it's tasting great on a cool 49 degree morning.

    Our friend and bassist/singer in my old band arrives today for a visit. Mrs. Z is beside herself with anxiety about the appearance of the house, which she is taking out on me…Oh well…we plan on taking Rosalind to the beach today to view the sandcastle competition, should be fun. Cheers!

    Good day BAs! Thanks, @AzfromOz for both starting today's thread and for the narrative - it's good to read a bit in the morn.
    Well, obviously back from TX, and I feel like a reverse immigrant - I come TO the land of the ice and snow - even TX was cold while we were there! This may have been my last fall trip south.

    Victory Sour Monkey 9.5%. Tried this a long time ago and didn't like it. Recently had Berry Monkey and it was good so Im revisiting this one. I kinda like it. Still not too sure. It's easy to drink. I saw a friend really over do it with these so Im just sippin so I don't end up in the weeds.

    Hey BA's - happy Saturday and happy 13th BA anniversary to me! Wow, seems like a lot shorter time than that since I joined here....will have to drink some special beers today to celebrate!

    Did a very chilly 25 degree (15 F w/ wind chill) 2 mile hike with Emma this morning - did not see anyone else out on the trails! Brrrr!
