    Drinking Samuel Smith's Winter Welcome. This beer has been a holiday tradition for a number of years, last year I didn't see any so this is extra special. I'll buy more if I see it, but otherwise I'll crack the other two around Christmas.

    Clear, dark brown body; dense carbonation; fairly thick head, light khaki colored, semi-creamy and lasting. Nice aroma; subtle; light roasted grain scent with a hint of cocoa. The taste amplifies the smell; rich cocoa flavor, lightly sweet; low-key bitterness; light milk chocolate; subliminal nut-like taste. Medium-heavy feel; smooth and silky; semi-sweet mouthfeel overall; creamy.

    A nice, smooth, and easy drinking dark lager.

    And good morning.
    Back from my 7.5 miler, and a tough "mountain legs" routine, needed that. Good way to process grief and a missing cat. Thanks to all those who reached out, commented, about Chuy's passing. We're at peace of course, but there will be moments over the next few weeks....

    Starting off cautiously today with a NA/UA Juicy IPA as if I start drinking this early, well, I'll be kind of a mess later.

    Hope your T'giving plans are underway, well-hatched, well-smoked, and well provisioned with beers this holiday week.

    Big Bad Baptist is tasting delicious. I went from drinking mostly lagers to a good mixture of stouts pretty quickly. Soon as the cold weather set in it was on.
