Happy Thanksgiving Eve, BA Nation! Just got home and enjoying this “Focal Banger “ my coworker snagged me on his trip to Vermont this past summer!

 

Yup this one was pretty amazing also.

 

At Southern Yankee to start off my long weekend.

I'm really close to finishing this book...its a long one and deals with lots of high concepts of capitalism versus communism. Through the eyes a a girls that grows up in this down trodden, continuously soggy/rainy/cold fishing village in Iceland. Its really well done, and I think I said before, it reminds me of Steinbeck in some ways. Though this was written before his major books. For being written in the 30's, it also seems very modern in some ways as well. Just really good.

Anyway, Hexenbrut Schwarzbeir. This is easily one of my favorite new beers this year.



Then a Who's Paul Pale Ale. With a great duck confit, goat cheese, and mushroom pizza.

It's a fun place. The food was really good, and the place itself is huge and really cool. There beer is fun but not great. Still, it's a cool place.

We’re back from our traditional Thanksgiving Eve dinner at our local diner (a 5 minute walk). Time for beer and college hoops. Cheers!

Gotta behave tonight. Going to my daughter’s tomorrow for thanksgiving. There will be about 30 folks there. Most are related to or friends of my son-in-law. Three generations will be present.

Sorry to disappoint @BrewsOverHoes but no sea critters are on the menu tonight but I did have salmon last night. Rest assured though that I will probably get clams Monday night and oysters Friday night.

Just got dinner down the hatch and about to load some up now. I got a new strain called Pop Star yesterday. It's some tasty purp should have got more.

 

Back home safely and enjoying a Celebration, we have both cans and bottles for sale in NCFL. I-75 is crawling north and south in the Ocala area, I'm sure it's all over.

 

Hey, I found my Elvin Jones Revival, Live At Pookie's Pub. Which was a dive bar in NY (you can tell the piano is out o tune, and the recording mics aren't in the perfect spot ). Last night I was all down and out cause there was a shipping mix up. Well, it turned out USPS delivered a bunch of packages to my condo building that was for another building up the road. That building got our packages. No thanks to USPS or anyone else, we just kind of figured it out and made the switches ha.

Anyway, sipping on a Saint Arnold Tarnation, American Strong Ale, and listing to this amazing live album.

Recorded a week after Coltrane passed away, Jones was in a mood. Along with Joe Farrell, they just tear through these as almost kind of remembrance.

 

I did the lawn last week, I'm done mowing this year. Also done with the leaves - I did the last batch over the weekend. This is as good as it's going to get ..
