I hear you. I had a 2 year barrel aged barleywine from Jackie O's the other day that was just about as good for $12. I will say though that $31 sounds cheap? I'd buy it at that price, it is a great beer.

I was wondering when the BW og's were going to pop in. :grinning:

Anyone else having an unhealthy mental battle about which BCBS to try first? Half my brain wants to do the OG for the baseline comparison. The other half wants yo go for the coffee because I’ve never had it and want to see how it is compared to cafe deth

I now have four soldiers in the fridge capped off, on coffee right now. Less than 12-18 hours won't matter for carb level IMHO.

I got the 4 pak for $40 and a coffee (never had one) for $25. Didn't really "chase", but I found myself going to TW this afternoon

GI has been hard to find around here. Last coupe years I’ve been able to find it but at $19 for reg, and $34 for coffee, I’ll just stick to KBS. Other than the fancy bottle, can’t discern the difference.

I spent $700 on one purchase, ouch. Five years ago that same purchase would have been $400. Got to love this hobby.

That said, who here spent $1k+, I saw multiple people do it so I know many of you did?

So, again, IMHO, coffee over OG for (in my neck of the woods) $8 premium over reg, I wouldn't do it outside of wanting to try it. I would rather just buy more OG as it remains a tremendous value for the price point in the family (yes, KBS, CW BBA, and Lagunitas Willetized are better $/oz). Don't get me wrong, the coffee variant is good and I would be hard-pressed to think you would be disappointed buying it but if you were given a choice of say $12 regular vs $20 coffee, there isn't $8 of enjoyment for me to justify it.

Down here in SW FL we got the Coffee, Biscotti, Sir Isaac’s, the 4 packs (“no limit”) & the regulars.

I’ll grab couple of each - my bro in law in Utah can’t get them and he sends me Epic Big Bad Baptist varients in trade for Xmas.

dunno where exactly you are in CT but I know that Elicit in Manchester has both 2022 OG & coffee, 2018 vanilla & last years cola on draft if you wanna keep your bottles closed for now. I'm sure there's plenty other bars/restaurants that have them but I remember seeing a post about it.

Oh nice, I’ve been there before. Unfortunately, a toddler and newborn make it tough to get out much these days. I might be able to on sunday if they haven’t kicked

    I just got some
    [IMG]
I plan on stashing most of it, saving it for my next bass slaying adventure with my kids, and of course I will hit a few more local stores looking for more. I hope everyone has a chance to get some, I hope y'all had a great Thanksgiving (those of you in the States anyway)
I really hope everyone is doing well and having a great day wherever you are.
    Cheers All

Sipping on the OG 22 now... Really great as always. This year finishes really fudgey, bittersweet dark chocolate. Much more prevent than 21. Otherwise, classic BCBS!

Look forward to trying the 12oz bottle this weekend since those are single barrel variants. I ended up with Heaven Hill barrel bottles, "HH".

Then of course the variants at a later date.

The beer guy at Total Wine confirmed no one in NorCal but for that one place in silicon valley got the 30th (which we commiserated how shady that place can be). There were a handful of places in SoCal that scored the 30th and the barleywine.

I say this every year. I quit buying BCBS when they switched from 4 packs to 16oz bottles….but left the price the same. And ABiNBev is just to boot.

too many beers just as good out there for that nonsense.

$26 for variants? Nah. $20/4pack variants. Sure. Even $25.

I’m summary, I pass bc of the price point. Not ABiNBev

I don't have to worry about any of it since I'm not going to pay those crazy prices. Too many other good beers available at reasonable prices.

Can someone clarify the 4 pack/12oz vs Larger bottle format of BCBS being sold? I assumed they are same OG BCBS but wasn’t sure.
