Wendigo absolutely not. It’s good but you can find something just as good for half or even a third of that price. I’ve had one batch of ADWTD triple oak and it was maybe the best barleywine I’ve ever had. Only you can decide if a 12oz barleywine is worth $90. But it is leaps and bounds ahead of most in terms of quality. I traded for it and would not pay $90 but everyone’s budget is different

Nope, no where near worth it. Wendigo was good and adwtwd great, but it's a crowded market with plenty of other options out there.

The first one of these I had was super strong on the coffee back when it was released..It's faded a little but the base barleywine is so good it doesn't matter..i'll sit on my last one a while...who cares if the coffee fades, it's a BCBBW

Did I miss something here? This was a bit of a mess. Thin, lacking richness, almost an artificial sweetener thing going on. I’m sure I’m wrong since it’s Hill Farmstead, but this was a big miss for me.

Dang, sorry to hear this. I've never tried it myself so I can't comment.

I've been prowling every corner of this universe for three decades. The more I learn, the less I know. I lust to try more. What I have discovered is that, not surprisingly, there are world within this world.

Thank goodness I have yet to discover a fruit-infused BW. There's only so much innovation this hard core, hair-on-chest fanboy can tolerate.

Wondering how many of us feel that barrel-aging is a nice-to-have, meh, or a sine qua non.

I've had a few fruited barleywines and a couple have been amazing. Others...not so much. Revolution has one with blackberries and Bottle Logic does one with peaches, both stellar.

Barrel aged is strongly preferred but not required.

    Welcome!
