I would actually love to see more threads beer style specific. The Saison thread has not taken off as big but I enjoy it.

    Enjoy

The head collapsed from 1” while framing the picture. The Stout leaves a film after each sip, and surprisingly legs do form. I also noticed some dark amber sediment at the bottom of the glass.

Whiskey is mild, as is the coffee. Roasted malt and coffee mix with milk chocolate. Warmth brings out light peat, tobacco, and alcohol fumes.

The opening is mild Bailey’s Irish Cream, due to the whiskey and coffee. Charred malt and baker’s chocolate follow, with plumb pudding late. Bitterness is well controlled by light sweetness. The finish is mild and lingering, with a light booziness, dark chocolate, and finally the promised hazelnut.

A full body and soft cushion of creamy texture. ABV is about as expected, with mild heat and light numbing of the gums. Carbonation has a soft prickly sensation, and residual sugar builds on the lips.

This will be an excellent sipping beer, while reading by a fire on a cold Winter evening. I’ll have to test that hypothesis next month. The things I do! Right now it is going down well as a pre-dinner warm-up, with a lazy dog on my lap.

    Same.

The WBAYDN is pretty much a yellow and hazy beer thread.

I originally wanted to make this a Non-Adjuncted Imperial Stout Appreciation thread...but it would prolly be like the Saison thread

There is an awesome barleywine thread also. I split most of my drinking between here and the barleywine thread!

I think the broad definition works well here. Although the occasional IPA might be a bit toooooo broad. HA! :-) @MadMadMike LOL.

Not that I’ve seen so far. But then again, I haven’t really gone out hunting for BCBS. I was shocked to see the 30th on the shelf.

well damnit this is one good fucking beer here. you ever take a sip from something and smile ? This is the kind of beer that makes me happy that beers exists. the kind of beer that reminds me why you dont need to add a bunch of bullshit to it to make it great. This one is fantastic. i dont even wanna bother writing down some useless tasting notes because im just gonna enjoy it.

Found Foothills Sexual Chocolate at my local Total Wine this summer. Remember hearing about a long time ago and it was one of those beers that i would seek out when i visited NC but couldn't find. Anyway, expected a dessert beer but this one was heavily roasted and hopped with a nice touch of cocoa; well balanced and better than expected.
    Cheers!

Is the base beer not "for Alan Watts"(Russian Imperial Stout circa 1800s)? because i do indeed have that one here!

Can we talk about how amazing 2022 Darkness is this year. I'm frustrated (having been collecting the 750ml since 2010) that broad distribution is limited to 16oz can vs wax 750ml but hot damn this is good. Like a chocolate-covered cherry in a glass. It's fantastic.

Making room in the fridge for a Tavour box. Bottle Logic is good, but after all the Bourbon County I’ve had recently, they just aren’t on the same level. I still have a Ghost Proton left, which I really like a lot. The Tavour box contains a Jam the Radar, which I’ve never had before
