Dan from San Diego

Yo, everyone. I’m Dan, and I’m from San Diego. Technically, a small city within San Diego called Poway with my wife and 2 young kiddos. I’m about to celebrate my 10th anniversary on Beer Advocate, and I have to say, it’s the best website I could have ever joined.

Not only have I developed an immense passion for beer, its taken me to incredible places across the US and Europe, met some phenomenal new friends and tried some of the best beers in the world.

What started as a fun experiment with friends in 2011 to drink a 10 year-old beer (Chimay Blue) turned into a wildly eye-opening experience after being strictly a vodka guy for years.

I was a fairly out of control beer trader for years, and now just maintain a modest cellar (60-80 beers at any given time) and a small network of consistent traders and proxies. Super passionate about rare and special brewery glasses, which has added another fun element to the hobby.
