Didn't see this mentioned, and hate to be the bearer of bad news, but I picked up my beer on Saturday afternoon and Ryeway to Heaven was sold out.

 

Looks like its available to go at Brewpub.

 

Has anyone seen SJ and ryeway out in the wild (in Chicagoland) yet?

 

Open bottle has them both available online

 

They are pretty tasty this year!

 

Should be plenty of 2021 still available, but yes 2022 is gone at the brewery.

 

Weird take of the day: I drink most stouts a little under room temperature, but this year’s cafe Deth is surprisingly good cold, too.

 

Friday from 6pm-8pm is one of those big tap takeovers at WholeFoods Ashland. I can't speak to the pour sizes and prices given whats changed since the last one, but IYKYK

I've been keeping an eye out for this year's Café after hearing all the praise in here, and heard a buddy say it hit locally, only to find it gone. Today another buddy of mine sent a pic and it was 2021. I couldn't believe it because I thought last year's was solid too, so it was weird it was still around, unless distro or that shop held some back for some reason. Did 2022 Café only just starting shipping out?

 

in my area (Central IL) my personal thoughts are that since regular deth 2021 and cafe 2021 were still lingering on shelves, the distributors were holding back the 2022 cans. but be reminded that 1) this is just a working theory and 2) i think distributors are a racket almost as bad as insurance (basically a legalized form of mafia-type activity).

if you need some, feel free to holler. binny’s had a decent amount when i went late this morning.

 

Noticed this as well. Was spoiled the last few years with Ohio getting deep woods the Tuesday after the brewery release. This year was over three weeks for DT and cafe delivered with it was 2021. Some 2021 vanilla as well. Not sure why. Im betting that the liquor czars in Ohio held it up since the label changed. The guy at the local shop said the UPC didn’t change from last year, so probably not a cause. Still waiting for SJ to show up.

 

I think we asked the same question earlier in the thread regarding Cafe Deth 2021 still being available while 22 was sold out and BeerCruncher replied.

 

Man this thread is way too active for me to read every post anymore. I'm getting old!

 

Quick update so I don’t disappoint anyone. They trimmed back these takeovers for very understandable reasons. I’m told it will be 8 beers, 2 deep wood.
