A ‘new’ term that was mentioned in that video was “beyond beer”. I first became aware of this terminology last year and I started a thread entitled: “Ken Grossman (Sierra Nevada) – Beyond Beer”.

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/ken-grossman-sierra-nevada-beyond-beer.660739/

A ‘classic’ example of “beyond beer” was (still is?) Hard Seltzer. In the recent past this was the hot new thing but it is my understanding that the growth of Hard Seltzer has notably slowed down.

My guess is the hot new thing in 2021 – 2022 is RTD (Ready to Drin k) cocktails. How much this new beverage is growing now I have no idea.

Will there be another hot new thing beverage in 2023 (and 2024)?

    Cheers!

P.S. Maybe wine coolers will make a return? I did see a young lady wearing bell bottom jeans the other day. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    I had to check.
Looks like it was discontinued in 2008.
But possibly still available in Japan.

Was the first alcoholic beverage I had. (Followed by shots of vodka 5 minutes later)

No worries. It totally improves with age. Enjoy!

It's funny but the litter we gather from along the road circling our lake has significantly less seltzers and those ready to drink concoctions are showing up more often. Those babies are small, easy to quaff, and then toss, Buzz is on I guess. Damn, aren't bell bottoms still a thing?

I suppose that could be a good way to characterize "beyond beer" demand/consumption.
They sure seem to be a 'thing' at Target:

Time has no boundaries in Target, but Walmart is really special for tight clothing.....Never mind.

I long for the day when a new generation of underage youth discovers the joys of MD 20/20.

I probably should not relate the following story but...

In college my intramural football team was called the Mad Dogs.

I actually never drank MD 20/20 but I thought this would be a great name for a team and for some strange reason the other people on my dorm floor thought it was a good idea.

I am fairly certain there was some beer drinking involved here. :beers:

    Cheers!

Of course it's the king of beers. It says so right on the label so that's how you know.

Ahh, old MD…. few places (read: gas stations) around Atlanta still sell it. I need to make a stop for one…

    …shivers.

I know Budweiser and ABinBev takes so much crap here and deservedly so, but I can think of a worse beer: Heineken.

Also how can a beer be the King in the land of the free that got rid of him some three centuries ago?
    Cheers.

I can vouch for the fact there’s an entire shelf of RTD’s at my favorite local store. New ones seem to be released quite frequently. I still like a cold Bud from time to time.

    Cheers.

Maybe it is a German immigrant thing!?!

The labels for Budweiser were in the German language until sometime in the early 1900's. Here is a label from 1876:
