This one is nice, too, because it tells you the abv, what barrels were used, and how long it was aged for. No story time, just the stuff we want to know.

Cross posting from yesterday's WBAYDN thread; Had a collaboration between Abomination and Evil Twin, a fine dessert imperial stout after the last of the Thanksgiving leftovers. Surprisingly it was not too sweet, thanks to the coffee.
    Cheers!

I liked it. It wasn’t stellar, but as it warmed it opened up.

A special Krampusnacht beer - Rye BORIS. The best Hoppin Frog stout? I know it’s highly coveted by @Resistance88. It may just be my favorite stout. Cheers!

    Having a coffee Ralphius.

The base beer is so rich and fudgy that the coffee has a hard time coming through. It is there as a welcome accent but I would have liked more of it.

Straight up classic Russian Imperial Stout. Aceite Crudo from Spindle Tap Brewing in Texas. Comes in at 12% ABV.

Pours motor oil black with light brown head. The nose is big roasted malts, coffee, tobacco, sweet dark fruit, and molasses. The taste is bitter roasted malts mixed with sweet fruit and brown sugar. Molasses, black licorice, sticky toffee, coffee grounds, tobacco, leather, and charred wood. Mouthfeel is thick and creamy. Aftertaste is bitter oak. Dry. Overall, a great stout.

    Crude Oil! IsO

Regarding the Speedway Hawaiian Terrace...its ok but NOT worth buying if ya want coconut...the Mostra and Coconut variant last year was much better

Long day today so I opened my last bottle of this stout. I bought these in TN last spring and the bottle is etched bottled 2022 so I’m guessing this is 10 months or so in the bottle. Pitch black, my iPhone flashlight can’t shine through this beer. Thick but not like sludge. No carbonation. Coconut is at a nice level. Very mild sweetness , I guess this is the maple that had really faded, the first bottle I had was very maple forward. Barrel is mild but shows up. I wish there was a bit more barrel. For a high ABV this is not drinking like it at all. Going down way too fast and easy. Really enjoying this beer and would buy another 4 pack tomorrow if it was on a shelf.

Not sure why the photo is all stretched out.

Phillies signed Turner, once Harper gets back look out.

    Enjoy

Oil indeed. This one reminded me of the old school Stone RIS.

Well today was like Christmas as i received an awesome beer mail from Tomas @Resistance88. Looking forward to enjoying these! And love the toast from Tomas and appreciate the time spent on the calligraphy!

So of course, i had to dive right in and crack the Parabajava. A brief review follows below:
Nose is heavily roasted coffee forward and am getting notes of the barrel in the background - vanilla, leather, and bourbon.
Taste is a huge malt base that has notes of chocolate and assimilates the heavy roasted coffee nicely. Barrel aging lends a nice touch of vanilla and leather. Finishes well balanced with a light kiss of bourbon on top of the coffee. Overall rating of 4.53 - World Class!
Not quite an @sulldaddy review but working my way there!
    Cheers!
    Tom

Quite a package of tasty beers there! That guy @Resistance88 does have some awfully fancy handwriting! I also appreciate the notes he includes in trades!
That review certainly hits the highpoints of your experience. Best part about reviewing beers........gaining more experience through practice, is actually FUN! :beers:
