I like Session IPAs. My favorite IPA is Bell's Two Hearted. I liked the Two Hearted Lite, but wasn't as good as I hoped for.

What is everyone's favorite "cheap" beer? For this exercise let's say below $1/beer. I've seen founders all-day on sale for $14.99 for a 15-pack. (Even though $17.99 is more normal.)

I've seen 24 packs of Warsteiner Pilsner for $24. Not an Ale and not as hoppy, as an All Day, but better than a budlight.

I'll vouch for Founders All-Day. Just got the 15 pack for $15. Good to have around when my sons and friends come by and raid my beer fridge!

All-Day is the cheapest session IPA I've seen and one of the cheapest craft beers I've seen in general. That said, it's a prime example of a "hop water" type of session IPA. I'd rather have something with some more body even if it means buying another style or something stronger that I can't drink as much of. I'd default to Sierra Nevada, Yuengling, Shiner, Goose Island, etc.

Are we talking Session Beer, or cheap beer?

I can buy All-Day IPA or Centennial 15 packs for $14.99 all day everyday, (Solid Gold too), I choose Centennial.

I gotta agree w/ All Day. Best value going for a quality session IPA.

I'm headed back to the Midwest for the holidays & will try Summit Triumphant session IPA, (I'm hoping it can hang w/ All Day).

I once found some "outdated" Ten Fidy marked down to $1/can. I bought it all. That's been my favorite cheap beer so far.

Miller Lite. Where are you getting 2H for a dollar or less? I need to visit this location. Cheers.

I like Sierra Nevada. That was my go-to before All-Day. I actually don't like Goose Island. I have no idea why. Maybe I need to give it another try.

I'll check it out. Ideally, I would like a session ipa, but if it has some hop I'll do something else, but not gonna do budlights or porters.

I was just stated two hearted is what I like. I've never gotten it for $1 a piece.

Understood. With regards to beers a buck or less, in my experience I can obtain a consistent and tasty product in a macro lager easier than I can find a half way decent craft option in that same price range. Cheers.

Stores will sometimes do this to clear out ancient stock. Finding well aging stouts is always a warm feeling.

Founder's All Day IPA is awesome as is the price. Here at home this is my go-to Session IPA plus it's low-calorie: Summit Triumphant. >Also try Narragansett Fresh Catch Citra Session Ale. Both are good value. Cheers!

I have seen that Gansett with the lobster on it, in my head I thought it was some type of crab spiced Bloody Mary beer. Now I need to find this and try it.

Here are my favorite current values at the nearest Woodman’s, which charges low grocery margins for their products including alcohol:

    (Penny rounded up)

All are 12 Packs / 12 oz (11.2 oz foreign) unless noted
    • Three Floyd’s Zombie Dust $20
    • Allagash White $18.5
    • Three Floyd’s Gumballhead $18
    • Revolution Anti-Hero $17
    • North Coast Scrimshaw $16.5
    • Revolution Fist City $16.5
    • Stone IPA $16.5
    • Lagunitas Maximus & IPA $16
    • Bell’s Two Hearted $16
    • Paulaner Munich Lager & Variety pack $15.8
    • Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, Powder Day IPA and Torpedo $15.8
    • Pilsner Urquell $15.8
    • Lagunitas A Little Sumpin’ Sumpin’ $15.5
    • Founder’s Centennial $15.5 (15 Pack)
    • G. Heileman’s Old Style $14.5 (24 Pack)
    • Anchor Steam $14.5
Woodman’s has “close out sales” of AALs and Craft just before they run past code. For example, Alaskan Amber Ale is $1.99 for a six pack in Buffalo Grove.

Would also add Truman Pilsner 12 Packs sold elsewhere. They have a broader selection at their Kenosha Wisconsin store, including beers from 3 Sheeps, Central Waters and New Glarus we cannot get in Illinois.

3.5 carbs? Nice. Makes me miss Summit even more -- even Woodman's Kenosha stopped carrying it -- @ChicagoJ

Great prices! I'm in PA, and for us those are what they charged ten years ago.
