I'm starting the day with a SN Celebration Ale. I've lost count of how many 12 packs I've gone through and this pack is from 10/25. Not sure if I'll see any from November.

Thanks for the kick off @Ozzylizard . It hit 1*F here last night. It was 35* in my home when I got up for work. Slept right through it. I figured it was time to fire up the ole furnace (Devil's instrument) when I got home this am.

Morning WBAYDN crew! Just got home and settled from my red eye back from Vegas. It was a great trip, actually left with more money than we went with! As is my post Vegas day tradition, a Bourbon County then a long winters nap. 2022 BCB Sir Isaac’s Stout.

A: Opaque black with one plus fingers width of mocha colored head that’s a bit fizzy but dissipates pretty slowly. No appreciable lacing. 4.25

S: Nose is roasted malt base beer characters and charred oaky bourbon notes up front, then dark fruits on the back of course fig but also some red grape. Graham cracker is definitely there especially as it warms, and a bit surprising how clear it comes out. Nice nose but a touch muted compared to many (most) BCBS’s. 4.25

T: Nothing muted about the taste, it’s a dark fruit bomb. There’s just tons of sweet red grapes up front, it has almost that DFH Midas Touch grape character. After the grapes some more dark fruits with fig, then dark cocoa, and oak on the finish. It’s quite sweet, in addition to the dark fruits there’s a pretty big brown sugar and some subtle honey notes on the lips, but it’s not cloying. Balanced wonderfully by roastiness and bourbon barrel characters. I get no graham crackers notes in the taste, it doesn’t really emulate the fig newton it was presumably going for, but that doesn’t matter it’s a really delicious beer here. 4.5

M/D: Full bodied but not think, carbonation appropriate, ABV exceptionally well masked and better drinkability than many of the sweet forward variants. 4.5

O: Really nice BCB variant, probably somewhere in the middle of the road in terms of all time variants but many than many of the recent ones. In terms of 2022s I’d go coffee->Sir Isaacs->Biscotti->regular. 4.5
