    Onto round 2 for today and having the last of my base Dark Apparition acquired this summer. I like this RIS, straight up old school medium roasted malts and hopped robustly to survive the long journey from Ohio to North Carolina. Enjoyable and will snag a four-pack again given the nice price point.

    I thought the pricetag was a mistake and bought four as well to lay a few down :slight_smile:. Very confusing why a gold foil beer would be 1/3 the price as normal, but hey, we're not complaining...

    Is this one discernibly a Porter? Or is it a stout in porter’s clothing? Any malty char? Delicious might be a good enough description for me :slight_smile:

    I wouldn't say it was overly roasty. I was quite sweet with the lactose. But I think the Porter/Stout division line is very blurry (hence why I posted it). For example, Founders Porter is bolder than a lot of stouts of similar ABV.

    I agree on the blurry line between the styles. I get curious as to why they choose a style over another when the particular beer might be a line straddler. Cheers!

    Had coffee the day before and this was much more full of a mouthfeel than that, maybe a tad below regular in the 16 ounce bottles, but really enjoyed the heavy dark fruit hit.
