Admittedly, I thought it was a watermelon or grapefruit on first glance…

Questions for the BA crew....thought a quick call to SP would answer them, but I can't find a number for them for the life of me. Planning a pass through StL for holidays and not sure what time I'll get there. I'm interested in some of the on-site bottles. First...do they keep that list up to date? Don't want to divert my travels with expectation of getting to enjoy something and find out the list is old. Next...what is the better spot to visit: brewery or cellar? From their website, it appears both will have on-site bottles (same ones?), but cellar is open later than brewery. I'm primarily interested in the stouts. I'm not sure what time I'll be there so the later hours might be needed. Cheers!

The lists are updated daily. Your concern would be with something selling out that day. In my opinion, the Cellar usually has more options for on-site bottles.

their menus are very up-to-date and reliable. if you’ll notice, they’re time stamped updated at the top of each place’s respective draft list.

as far as cellar vs. brewery tasting room: take a look and see what draft list you like better because the on-site lists are fairly similar, especially when you’re talking imperial stouts / strong ales / barleywines.

hope you have a good trip!

Appreciate the tips! I do now see the time stamp on the draft menu. I was primarily focused on bottles so was looking there. I've only been able to taste BBT once, and have never had MJK...so looking forward to those. The DB Derivations look interesting too.
Also just noticing that the brew pub is only open Fri-Mon. I'll be mid-week, so Cellar it is!

You can walk between the two locations in a matter of minutes. Drive by and choose one or the other but if you have time you can certainly visit both.

I've seen people comment both ways, but I really enjoyed Fra Gee Lay. But yeah, it's christmas bomb.

I haven’t yet figured out why it is $1.80/oz on draft vs $1.25/oz in the can. That’s a huge premium for something that is still available to go. Guess if you think you won’t like it you’re only eating $9 vs $20, but damn.

I’m pretty sure most SP stouts have a draft premium like that, but I could be wrong.

Are port barrels the cinnamon of ‘21? Meaning, many beers are influenced by it.

I’m not a fan of any beer in port, personally.

Better port barrels, than cinnamon, in my humble opinion!!

Anyone going to be around the cellar tomorrow evening and want to share some bottles? I'd love to try this stuff, but damn...750ml on-site only will kill me. Wish there were some smaller format or to-go options
