What beer are you drinking now? #3713

So happens it’s a work from home Tuesday. Going with my beer of December early.

 

Following up from an earlier post, doing final touches on house cleanup so our guests don’t think we live like animals.


The BB GBS is tasting a little more sweet today, especially compared to the Kentucky Christmas Morning I had for the online tasting, with the ginger is coming through more prominently.

Did a chilly hike earlier - sun is peaking out....supposed to get up into the upper 30's today and 40 tomorrow - then the shit hits the fan Thur - through Christmas! Whee!

This is tasting mighty fine as I prepare some pasta for lunch

This beer pours a dark amber color. There's slow looking carbonation bubbles rising in the glass when held up to the light. The head is 1 finger, and slightly off white colored. The bubbles are small looking. The head retention is quite good, and there's some lacing on the glass.
The nose is quite malty. Hint of caramel on the aroma. Slight nutty aroma.
Very malty flavor. Lots of bread/biscuit. There's caramel that comes into play that comes in more toward the back. There's a slight bitterness on the backside.
The body is quite good for a beer that is only 5%.
Quite a tasty beer. It packs a lot of flavor into a 5% beer.

A busy week. Today I did the last of my shopping (some stocking stuffers for my wife). and started planning meals. This year we are celebrating both Hanukkah and Christmas. Our oldest daughter converted to Judaism years ago, so we had dinner with them this past Sunday, and they will be over Friday for a Hanukkah/Christmas meal. Christmas Day our son and his girlfriend will be here with us.
I'm drinking this nice doppelbock from Ex Novo.
