What Northeast beer are you drinking now? (2022)

I was excited to see Face Hugger in the cooler at my local today, as in my experience NEBCO’s distro in Mass is/was very limited.

First heard this String Cheese Incident album back in college more than 20 years ago, but still have not seen them live.

 

Big, big dinner has made me stuffed and I’ve been drinking water and club soda since and finally drinking some good stuff again. Little Fire by TH. Crisp with just a touch of lemony smoke.

I thought the pale beer reinforced my interest in the brewery. Wonderful music:

 

Interesting that some tastes are completely messed up while others are intact if not better. This one tastes really nice.

 

Victory - Dark Thunder Storm King. I wouldn't have bought this myself since it has coconut, but a friend brought this over to a holiday get together we had and so a few cans left in my fridge. I would prefer the original recipe, but the coconut isn't too prominent, and the coffee comes out more as it warms.

 

It has been interesting to see the evolution of Other Half from the start.

I went to Barrington Brewery in Great Barrington today because they said they had an English Strong Ale (Old Pluto) on cask. I love cask beers and English beers, so hell yeah, let's go.

I get there and I receive this:



I'm 99% sure it was on nitro, and not a cask. I didn't see them pour it, but it definitely had a Guinness thing going on and had the ultra creamy nitro mouthfeel.

Fall - Coffee Stout - Maine Beer Co.

Wow am I tempted to post this is the soon to launch “Non-Adjuncted Imperial Stout Appreciation thread.” Just to give them a twist.

At a whopping 5.6% abv, one doesn’t even notice any alcohol. The black coffee comes through after it warms. I’m really digging this one and happy to know there is more waiting for me.

A brewery near me that has a couple cask beer engines will do some of their dark cask beers with a sparkler.
